    Misfire on new motor

Are you getting any codes? From what I can remember from my Dizzy install, its been a couple of years, was I had to get it fairly close as far as lining up with #1 TDC and then the PCM would take over ? I did have to play with it for awhile, and it did seem like it wasn't perfect, but the...

Did any OBS come with the new style spider injectors from the factory?

The newer spider injector assembly that we all have upgraded to. Well some of us I guess. The newer part number for Vortec engines 96-99.

front end noise like a goose honking, any ideas?

Worn idler belt pulley bearing? Worn fan belt? Gotta pop the hood and ya know, look when its running.

Same symptoms? I see a new control arm is $23.00 on Rockauto.

    Yukon's not running right...need help

Lol! Thats crazy. I wonder if a piece of the honeycomb filter came loose in the cat, blocking the flow for awhile. Its probably not "fixed" but hopefully stays away. Your making me wanna clean my MAF and TB now. My Yukon runs fine but I'm at 120k, probably pretty dirty too. Can't...

    01 tahoe squeaky shock help

You need to grab the shaft with something to hold it while you tighten the nut. Giggity.

    Suggestions please

Transmission is completely not a known problem. GM has some of the best automatic transmissions made. I've had about 15 various GM vehicles, all but three were automatic, and I've never had to have one rebuilt. Could not be further from the truth. I think its a great replacement for your...

Clanking coming from rear lower control arm...

This sound just started today. It happens when taking off from a stop under moderate to heavy acceleration and also when coming to a stop. Its a simple one time clank. I was able to make it happen in the driveway by letting it roll a few feet and hitting the brakes hard. So I got the wife...

    spider injectors

When I did mine, i got a big plastic bin from Walmart. Then I was able to put the intakes in the bin and dumped in a gallon of mineral spirits. Some brushes, rags and paper towels and everything looks brand new. Edit: although I removed both intakes when I did mine. Had the intake...

Best headers for a 04 tahoe

That is the perfect trademark Header sound.
  12. Matt06Yukon

    Calspeed headers?

They look gorgeous but too cheap to be true. Also looks like for offroad use, I don't see any room for cats with that setup unless your using someone else's y-pipe.

Anyone thought of or done an LS swap into a OBS?

I know. I was talking about the pre-Vortec, the 200 hp 350 version. The standard 96+ Vortec I'm happy with, nice platform to work with.

Anyone thought of or done an LS swap into a OBS?

I was waiting for this. But 50 horse is a good amount and in my mind I'd rather swap in the superior LS engine than hunt down another 50-75 horsepower. I've had lots of engines. The LS series is the best, especially in reliability terms.

    Performance Ignition Kit??

Uh ya well when you back out the screws that hold the cap on and the ears are broken because they are plastic, thats pretty shitty. Which also makes it hard to tighten the cap down to make a good seal because your worried about snapping those stupid ears off. Don't know what to tell you except...

    Performance Ignition Kit??

Ya I have to agree, I replaced my distributor while doing intake gaskets, spider injection assembly and new waterpump. I used to have to replace the cap and rotor around once a year. Since I've done that overhaul I haven't had to touch the truck. That was like two years ago. I'm pretty sure...

    '99 Tahoe - Expedition Build!

Sweet setup man, great build. You actually attacked the things that are important for really wheeling. That said, I think the 33's actually look perfect on the rig. The extra weight and wear and tear of 35's are not worth it on 1/2 ton IFS imo. My wife and I spent a week offroading around...

Dude thats awesome. I've been wanting to replace both my side mirrors, how's the quality of these?

Anyone thought of or done an LS swap into a OBS?

Ya I kinda meant amongst forum members. I've looked in the Performance section and noticed a couple of guys have started swaps. Looks interesting. Yes the LS1, 2, and 3 is like the best engine ever for swapping into....everything. :)

Anyone thought of or done an LS swap into a OBS?

Just wondering. I'm looking at 2 door Tahoe's and Yukon's and sometimes come across a pre-1996 Truck that looks good but I'm always like damn, no Vortec. 50 less horsepower. But I was wondering instead if swapping in a 5.3 would be relatively easy. Complete motor with trans and pcm of course.

    New look for Snowkon!!!

Looks great. I however like the rims the wayyyy better the way they are, I'm really sick of black rims. Makes it look like a W/T. Yukon looks great as is. Maybe some Esky rear vent covers in white, or street scenes covers. I love the way those things look.

    My '03 'Hoe.

Always use heat from a small torch on stubborn bolts first before destroying the nut. Heat is ALWAYS more potent than oil/penetrant. Good luck with the Tahoe.

Who has the highest miles thread.

120,000 on the '06. Runs awesome, only problem I had was the stupid rear hatch lock/unlock mechanism. Easy to fix just kinda expensive. My rear ac/heat actuator doesn't work but I just switch it to a/c for the summer and heat for winter. Easy fix for now, I don't know why I haven't fixed it...

    Power Steering suddenly gone

Not saying you did but alot of people do this, never hold the wheel at full lock. You'll hear the pump groan when you you do; back off a smidge. The psi increases alot when you do that and your straining the pump when you do that. Just a heads up. Glad you found your problem.
