I just threw that in because you said a vin 8 is a vin 8 regardless of the year, all you have to worry about is the 8th digit.
If you call a yard and say you need a vin whatever engine the first thing they'd ask is what year.
There you go year is important, i think that might be the bigges...
Just because the 8th digit and engine code is the same doesn't mean the engines are. The 8th digit for LMG never changed for example yet the engine did. So much so that there are cam profile and power differences as well as variants with and without VVT. You need to get the proper year range of...
There's also a year range that's compatible. In this case looking up used engines they only list 2007 and 2008. They used the same 8th digit vin letters beyond compatible years.
No problem! You can download the manual if you have one from the wrong vehicle (asin not a yukon one). But as long as it's for a similar year and yukon or tahoe you're not missing much.
That's how I am. We used to rarely loose power and when we did it was very short. Now the last several years we've lost power a few times for several days straight. I start liking the idea of a generator, then I think If I get one it'll probably problematic when we need it or not be big enough...
It's not an LS when it has steel wheels and rubber floor, there's probably some fleet code to it.
You should try to find another police one with a listed vin to check the codes to see what it shows as and if you are lacking any of the HD parts. It could be this new way of running the rpo codes...
We've had a 99 and 2004 Yukon and now a 2017 Tahoe Premier. Didn't shop around for other SUVs when we got the Tahoe, we were going to get either that or another Yukon.
The OBS one is bad on gas and drives like the truck they are. The next Gen was a huge improvement and might be my favorite...
For sure if you already have a gas hook up.
We're stuck with getting propane from Costo or the odd gas station that sells it so with no power for long enough time to need more fuel I'd rather have the convenience of going to any gas station to fill up if I don't have enough in jerry cans...
I've had a few cases where rock auto has sent parts that look like they came out of a flood or are super old so I generally only buy stuff from them that isn't affected by stuff like that or cheap enough that I'm not put much if it's a dud.
If you're buying a used engine from a wrecker their software will tell them what engines are compatible to yours. You'd have to trust them on mileage and condition but to a point you can verify some of that before installing, like how clean it is under the valve covers, use a camera to check the...
It should be in the manual. And standard on a Denali. There's a symbol on the dash for it when it's activated, it disables if you start messing around with the hi beam dimmer or turn on the fog lights.
When it's activated you should see it dim by itself at night anytime someone comes towards...
Why risk any potential issues doing that when you can get a generator that can power more for a fraction of what the Tahoe costs. Especially when you seem to need it that often.
We have a 2017 Tahoe Premier and I love it.
Previously had a 99 an 04. Still have the 99 actually.. The 04 miiiigt still be my favorite because it drove great and I liked the style but less to go wrong then the newer one.
I just replaced my motors, they weren't working last winter so hopefully everything stays working.
I bought mud flaps to try to cut down on the crap being thrown up at them.
You can get aftermarket kits that heat the fluid. I don't know how well they work but they've been around for over 20 years so either they work OK or a lot of suckers keep trying it?
I'm in Canada too and see temps colder then that an no way would I want it as a standard option to bring the price up even more and make the windshield cost a small fortune or loose the feature when it needs to be replaced.
It's usually a non issue in those temps anyway because when it's that...
I'd tend to want to take the Tahoe for better comfort.
Toyota might have better traction but the Tahoe has better ground clearance so you can run into problems either way.
The only down side of the factory hitches is they have limited weight capacity which can become an issue if you are towing something really heavy like car trailer or bigger camper. I don't know what the dealer bought ones are but the pre installed ones were usually like 5,000lbs.
