thanks @tiktok4321
I am thinking if I can make couple of tweaks to reduce alignment issues. 1) removing the hinge bolts of hood and having hood support instead of removing hood fully 2) removing the fender liner partially i.e. clips and bolts connected to fender and leaving the rest in place...
tested today, alternator is good (not drawing) and the draw is from the wire heading to under hood fuse box. I think I need to check the 3rd fuse box left to steering column.
can someone help identify what is the last wire (in attached pic) heading to?
thanks
My ppv has a parasitic draw of around 2.5 amps, checked main fuse block and dash fuse block. none there causing the draw.
I notice my PPV has atleast 5 wires getting out of positive battery terminal. I think some might be related to police accessories which are removed and may not be passing...
Hi All, I narrowed down to the exact 2 inch area when water is introduced it causes leak in passenger end. the area is behind the sound dampening material behind fender (shown in picture, reference picture not from my Tahoe).
1. Are there any expected holes/ports behind this marked area of...
Hi, I have similar leak on the passenger... I narrowed down to water poured between firewall and fender leads to leak in passenger side. Did you eventually remove fender to further troubleshoot?
thanks for the idea, I am planning to try this method. it is easy to mount the shop vac (not sure CFM is enough), and I can close the HVAC air intake vent temporarily and conduct testing. mounting leaf blower can be difficult.

yes, the seam sealer is crumbly in sections. thanks for the sealing inputs.
on the 'cowl drains at the bottom rear of the fenders' reference... In my case as in this picture, the cowl water just pours out between and inside fender. can you point which drain you are referring to?
These pictures show the condition of my seam seal in cowl.
btw, are these really sealing a seam or its just created for water barrier? asking this because it is raised by almost an inch. I am searching any thread about this seam seal.
I already opened and inspected visually the seam. But you are right, it might have invisible leaks as I found the seam sealant fragile. should I take away the existing seam sealant and reseal. what sealant I should use?
right now the suspect is 1 of 2
- bad seam sealant in wiper cowl (i am...
I am troubleshooting rain water leak in passenger side for a while. I narrowed down to specific internal and external water intrusion spot.
When I pour water in exact spot between two wipers into the cowl, the water seeps out of the exact spot shown in first picture 'water intrusion.jpg' i.e...
agree... mine soaks up water coming out of cowl drain and seeps into passenger side carpet area (through some gap behind fender)... that's why I am exploring this area.
I am troubleshooting water leak intrusion point, after elimination of points like windshield, door seal, door grommet, cowl air intake the likely intrusion area is behind fender.
the water flowing out of cowl through the flapper drips between fender and firewall body. against the firewall body...
I am troubleshooting my Tahoe passenger side water leak when it rains...
I already removed the cowl and sealed the HVAC service access cover, which had gaps
removed the A pillar trim and observed if any leak from windshield - none on the right end
planning to replace the weather strip which...
