Was it possible to get a Tahoe with a sunroof without rear dvd?

Can you snap a picture up where the DVD player normally would be? Looks like its just a regular dome light there instead.

Was it possible to get a Tahoe with a sunroof without rear dvd?

I actually didn't think of tape. I guess I need to remove the DVD player and see what the headliner looks like then. I just assumed it was a huge hole cut around the plastic trim. Maybe its just some small holes for mounting

Was it possible to get a Tahoe with a sunroof without rear dvd?

I wondered if that would work or if, because of how tight the headliner material sits against the board, you'd be able to see where the hole was patched over prior to recovering. Although I am not sure how big of a hole there will be under the DVD player..

Was it possible to get a Tahoe with a sunroof without rear dvd?

I would like to delete the rear dvd but I assume there is a big hole after removing it. Is there a headliner (even used that can be recovered) option to fix this?

Performance upgrade Ideas for my 2001 5.3 Tahoe

I have known many stalled auto guys in my years of being into cars and most all of them buy good parts and their cars run good because of it. The last one I was in was a 6.0 swapped rcsb z71 with an 80e and a PTC billet triple disk. You are probably on to something in regards to tuning because...

Performance upgrade Ideas for my 2001 5.3 Tahoe

Yeah there's performance there to be had but it'll also drive kinda spongy and terrible IME. I would gladly give up some performance to not feel like my trans is always slipping.

    Transmission slipping!

No problem. There are several threads on here as well as performancetrucks.net that will walk you through the swap. Its all in all a pretty simple swap all things considered especially because of how much stronger the 80e is as well as the better 1-2 gear spacing.

    Transmission slipping!

How mechanically inclined are you? If you can remove and reinstall the trans yourself you can save quite a lot of money towards the rebuild. If its driving that bad (unless low on fluid) its my experience its done and needs rebuilt. However, I wouldn't sink a dime into rebuilding a 4L60e...

    Muffler Replacement Suggestions

I had an xr1 (oval case version) on my old 5.3 Silverado with long tubes and no cats. It was honestly the perfect setup. Zero drone at any speeds but had a nice smooth sound and decent volume when on it. With stock manifolds and cats it will be even more tame so it will be a great every day...

Performance upgrade Ideas for my 2001 5.3 Tahoe

I don’t think so. I’d try to avoid a new converter too but my only experience has been in a truck that wasn’t really well tuned for it and it drove pretty terrible. Not sure if tuning would have changed that but it’s definitely turned me off from the idea.

    Has anyone heard of this?

From everything I have read online flex fuel isn't worth it from a cost perspective unless you have a performance setup that actually can use the extra octane and cooling effects of ethanol. Most all street driven ls engines don't. Your mileage will drop enough that the cheaper fuel becomes...

2004 GMC Yukon flex fuel edition issues

I don't notice a difference in my 05 using 87 vs 89 for 91. Oddly I did in my old Silverado with the same drivetrain lol. When you did your plugs were any darker than the others? More fuel saturated than others? Maybe you have a leaky fuel injector? Does it feel down on power when wide open...

Performance upgrade Ideas for my 2001 5.3 Tahoe

You can piece that kit together for quite a bit cheaper on your own. Plus the wiring is super simple to do on your own instead of adding in the pigtail there. You just need to swap 2 pins at the connect of the transmission, then add a second speed sensor (plugs into connector at the ecu and...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Can you get a sound clip of the xr1? Which one did you use, the round case or the oval? I had an oval case xr1 on my old Silverado with longtubes and no cats and loved the sound. I want to replace the MBRP muffler my Tahoe has now with another xr1 and I am curious of the sound with stock...

Going backward to a NBS platform

My 2 biggest NBS complaints are the front suspension and the terrible transmission. I know I can swap in a 4L80e and solve the reliability issues but they still drive like they are 30 year old technology. My other car for a couple years was a new 10 speed mustang and that transmission (while...

    Charging system help..

I remember reading about the larger 140amp truck alternators being a better unit from the start and are easier to rebuild with quality parts than the smaller units are. Many suggest finding a 140amp pullout from a junkyard and having a local specialty shop rebuild it. There are a LOT of crap...

    2005 Denali Antenna question

I have random connection issues (it'll always happen with satellite radio connections) under like bridges and stuff but I get better reception with the stock antenna in this truck than I did with the same receiver in a different vehicle using the antenna that came with the receiver. The...

    2005 Denali Antenna question

Fun tidbit, if you have an aftermarket headhunt with XM capabilities, you do not have run an extra antenna if you have the stock one. Behind the glovebox is the stock XM box with the stock antenna wire. If you unplug it and break the connector off it will plug into an aftermarket box and you...

2006 Tahoe Cooling system running to cool. 5.3L Flex

I think I dropped about 2mpg since the cooler thermostat in my trans am and really dont notice any performance difference. Curious what will happen when I go warmer and see if the mileage picks back up or not

2006 Tahoe Cooling system running to cool. 5.3L Flex

Something to consider is oil temp. If your oil isn't getting to the proper temp (or fast enough), condensation isn't evaporating out. Higher engine temps (to a point) will prolong engine and oil life. I just did a nerdy dive into coolant temps a few nights ago and the engineers on the LS1...

2006 Tahoe Cooling system running to cool. 5.3L Flex

I am sure this isn't it but are you sure its properly bled? I just did all new rad, hoses, pump, thermostat etc and when I first started it, it took a good 20-30 minutes of idling before it came up to full temp. It was hovering around 160-170 I believe and SLOWLY creeped up from there. Since...
