    I suspect BCM... thoughts?

It just says "repair wire as needed" and references the manual. The manual only has instructions for exposed copper, so I guess I'll just wrap it up.

    I suspect BCM... thoughts?

New alternator should be here any time now (thanks Amazon!). As I said, while I'm waiting I've been inspecting/dielectric greasing all the connectors mentioned in that TSB. I found something that looks... suspicious. The first item mentioned is a metal wire clip on the transmission. Lo and...

    I suspect BCM... thoughts?

Alright fellas, new alternator on it's way. While I wait, I've pulled the main fuse box to check for corrosion (nope) and started pulling connectors on other modules to check them as well. Going to put a light coat of dielectric grease on them just for peace of mind, following this tsb. I am a...

    I suspect BCM... thoughts?

Yes, cables are clean, new main ground wire and an additional 4ga wire from the block to the firewall was added. Guess I'll run it up to autozone tomorrow. But I gotta be honest, a battery above 12v and causing the whole system to bug out seems... like more than just a low battery.

    I suspect BCM... thoughts?

But how would that load test the alternator? If the battery is fully charged (like I have it on a charger right now) it would be fine, and if it were already low it would just test lower?

    I suspect BCM... thoughts?

I have not. To be honest I've never tested an alternator any other way. I know autozone and such offer an alternator test, what's different about it? When running, it's over 14v, on multimeter and on gauge. If I go for a drive, come home, shut off vehicle, pop hood, battery tests at 12.7-12.8.

    I suspect BCM... thoughts?

I did. Two weeks ago. And topped it off before I installed it.

    I suspect BCM... thoughts?

Well, ladies and gents, the saga continues. I've been driving the suburban every day, so the battery should be maintaining a state of charge. But it seems low again, and I went to start it this afternoon and got all the same symptoms. No gear position No fuel gauge Service 4wd Service ABS And...

New Tech2 Clone - am I finding new issues or causing them?

Well, got myself an alldatadiy sub and started looking around. Found a connector next to the trans that the vent solenoid wire connects to. Ran a continuity test between it and the solenoid connector - beep. Checked from it to the ecm connector - no beep. Well well well. Looking around a bit...

New Tech2 Clone - am I finding new issues or causing them?

Battery is two weeks old. It was just replaced (under warranty) and the last battery was like 9 months old. I can't seem to get this truck to hold voltage, and this might be related to my overall electrical issues. I don't drive it daily and it may sit for weeks at a time. When I drive it, park...

New Tech2 Clone - am I finding new issues or causing them?

Well I read a bunch about the battery needing to be fully charged and some folks having issues with it getting drawn down quickly while diagnosing. So put it on the charger overnight and took it up to full - seems to be reading ECM now and I was able to cycle the evap (or at least attempt it)...

I really need help with my 2010 Yukon

I have been struggling with the exact same problem. I replaced the BCM and it seems to have helped, however I just posted a new thread yesterday about how my new Tech2 is having trouble connecting to the ECM/BCM intermittently.

New Tech2 Clone - am I finding new issues or causing them?

After messing around some more, now I'm also getting intermittent connections to the BCM. It will work, then drop, then work, then drop.... Even when it was working, it still never communicated with my Bose Amp, which is also odd. Modern vehicles... ugh.

New Tech2 Clone - am I finding new issues or causing them?

I've tried powering the Tech2 both with the cigarette lighter, and with the 110v adapter to an extension cord. Same result. Not sure what the internet has to do with it at this point, I haven't actually connected it to a PC yet. But it would be wi-fi, although I could probably run a cat5 into...

New Tech2 Clone - am I finding new issues or causing them?

So I'm starting a new thread as I didn't know if this was related to my original question/problem - Is my BCM bad? I picked up a Tech2 clone from chinacardiags - first, ever since replacing my BCM I had a airbag light on that required a 'primary key reset', and I also have a P0449 code that...

    Tech 2 Purchase

Well, this news is kind of unfortunate. I'm about to pull the trigger on a chinacardiags Tech2 and now I'm wondering if this is worth the hassle.

I agree. It was bought new in November 2021 so I'd like to get it replaced under warranty. Just need Autozone to agree as well.

    I suspect BCM... thoughts?

I took it out of the truck and brought it in. They had a little box with what looked like jumper cable clamps on it. Of course I had recently topped it off when I took it in so the voltage was fine, but I thought it would be able to test for other stuff (amps, etc). Maybe not. I'm gonna let it...

    I suspect BCM... thoughts?

It's not that fancy of a charger, it has 2-4-6 Amp options. This was on the 6A setting, from 12.25 to full takes like 12 hours or more. On other batteries I've used it on I can top them off in 2-4 hours. Edit: I'm measuring by using a multimeter from the negative battery post to the cable when...

    I suspect BCM... thoughts?

No, I have not. I've been focusing on why this damn battery keeps losing charge. Parasitic draw is around 14mA, which supposedly is acceptable. Alternator putting out over 14V. But when I drive it and then check it a little while later, voltage is down. Seems like when I get a...

    I suspect BCM... thoughts?

Nope, conventional Duralast Gold from autozone. Of course if their little tester doesn't show an issue, they won't replace it under warranty.
  22. T

    I suspect BCM... thoughts?

Well my current draw (if I did it right) is right around 13mA. Alternator is putting out 14.8V. Took the battery to Autozone and they told me it tested fine, but when I take it home and put it on the charger it's only showing half full.

    I suspect BCM... thoughts?

Well, unfortunately it left me sit again today. Same behavior. No gear indicator when key on, no crank. Ugh. Battery is back down to 12.25 volts as well. So either this thing isn't holding a charge, or something's still drawing it down. It's still under warranty so I'm going to replace it...

    I suspect BCM... thoughts?

So far so good. I still haven't had the Airbag reset yet, I do need to make an appt for the recall so I might as well kill two birds with one stone on that one. I ordered mine from the ebay link someone shared earlier in the thread. They got it to me fairly quickly.

    I suspect BCM... thoughts?

Day 2 of sitting in the hot sun with no issues. Fingers crossed, feeling cautiously optimistic. I hate having a vehicle I can't trust.
