    G80 Locker

Hi, so I'm going to be changing to fluid on my 2005 Tahoe with the G80 locker rear diff. However, all of the fluids at the stores seem to have some sort of limited slip additive. Do you guys think it'd be okay to put Mobil 1 75w90 LS into it? I'd rather not have to wait for an Amazon order to...

    Spare tire troubles

Hi, so on my 05 tahoe I want to drop the spare tire to make more room for replacing the differential cover and gasket, especially since the bolts are round and I need to hammer a socket onto them, so any room helps. Only problem is the spare tire, after down an inch or 2 stops moving. It also...

    Flowmaster Muffler

Hi so for my 2005 Tahoe I am going to put a Flowmaster 50 series muffler of some sort on it. I like that they're aggressive and semi loud, but are not too obnoxious, compared to the muffler delete right now. My question is, would you guys go with the 50 series delta flow or the 50 series SUV...

    Tahoe Clunk

Updating. I removed the CV axle today and then put the tire back on and wiggled it at 9 and 3 like before and no noise from that side, so the CV axles are probably worn. I put it back in of course so I dont lose a tire, but I'll probably replace those eventually.

    Tahoe Clunk

I'm not sure if I'm going to bother with the bearing right now as it feels fine and I dont feel any play in it. For now I'm going to replace all the sway bar bushings and links as they're really bad, I already have everything taken off just waiting for parts

    Tahoe Clunk

It seems like the other side makes a very similar noise.

    Tahoe Clunk

Alright y'all here's an update, back to the drawing board! I wiggled the tire on the other side and heard a slight similar clicking sound.

    Tahoe Clunk

Yeah I'm going to go ahead and do that. It's very simple to get it off and from there it'll be easy to tell if the bearing is bad.

    Tahoe Clunk

    Yeah thats what I'm thinking.

    Tahoe Clunk

Another thing is driving it in the rain today, I didnt really hear it at all, its more when its dry out, interesting.

    Tahoe Clunk

I guess you could say it sounds a little bit like gravel or something rocking around in the bearing like someone else mentioned, but I dont notice it in any one specific condition. it seems to just happen all the time. I may try to get a video of the noise drivingm

    Tahoe Clunk

Yeah they definitely do, but I dont think those are the cause of the clunk. I've had multiple vehicles that needed the links and they sounded different and the clunk usually only happened over bumps, whereas the Tahoe happens anytime

    Tahoe Clunk

I pryed on everything, didnt feel any play in any ball joints, tie rods, idler or pitman arms. Only the click from the bearing or cv axle.

    Tahoe Clunk

I may just end up removing the wheel bearing to see if wiggling it back and forth by hand renders any play in it, and if not I would guess it's the CV axle.

    Tahoe Clunk

I put a prybar under the 6 o'clock position, didnt feel or hear anything, also pryed at everything like in the video and nothing else had play. The only play/clunking noise I had was when I used my hands to wiggle the tire back and forth at the 9 and 3 position. The noise can be heard at all...

    Tahoe Clunk

I also just pried on everything like I did in the video and nothing else moved or clicked, no tears in anything

    Tahoe Clunk

Yeah I did jack it up and wiggled the tire around, that's when I felt the click and clunk, I also put a pry bar underneath the tire and didnt feel any play there. I may try just removing the bearing and seeing the condition of it with it off

    Tahoe Clunk

Hello, I've been having a clunk in my Tahoe's suspension for a while now, and I've narrowed it down to 2 things. The CV Axle or wheel bearing. Here's a video of the clunk, and you can see a bit of movement/play in the CV Axle, is this normal or is that causing the clunk? The other thing I would...

    ABS Light

I will also try running the ABS motor with a scan tool as well, to see if there's any problems with that.

    ABS Light

Yeah I'll check on that, I don't believe it has Active Brake Control as I don't remember seeing a spout, I'll also check my RPO codes for JL4, which indicates it has it aswell.

    ABS Light

I agree, I doubt they'd both just coincidentally go at once. My hunch is the EBCM for sure, so I'll probably end up repairing the solders myself or just buying a remanufactured one. I'll definitely still check the wiring at the sensors and will unplug and plug them back in. Thanks!

    ABS Light

Hello, so my 2005 Tahoe's ABS light has been on for a while with 4 codes. C0222, C0226, C0268, C0291 The ABS light is off till I start driving, and the light comes on instantly. It used to sometimes not come on, but now it comes on all the time. Cleaned the grounds that could cause these...

    Exhaust

Hello, I am currently fabricating a cheap exhaust for my 05 Tahoe, just a quick question about sizing. If I have a 2.5"id, would a 2.75"id connector fit over that without being super loose? What I'm thinking is since 2.5"id fits over a 2.5"od pipe, wouldn't that make it bigger and a very similar...

    2005 Tahoe Exhaust Size

Hello, does anyone know what the size of the exhaust is for a 2005 Tahoe LT muffler that has a single in and double out y pipe? I thought it was 3 inch but when I got the pipe and connectors to go over it, it was extremely loose. Thank you!

    2005 Tahoe Transmission

ah, reading in some places they say you can swap a Tahoe's 4l60e with a 4l65e, but other places say you need to swap some parts on the transmission. I think I'll just continue looking for a 4l60e that I know will work without a hassle.
