I had a problem with MSD wires in general. Chech resistance values on each one. I had 2 that were really bad. I have since changed to Taylor 8.2 Thundervolts. They are good wires.
my 2 cents, at 245k is it worth putting a replacement motor in? Maybe find a different truck with lower miles all together? Unless you've replaces lots of parts on it and then it may be justified. How is the tranny?
That is a sure sign of a coolant leek from either the head gasket or the intake gaskets. The smoke will also smell funny like burning antifreeze if that makes any sense.
Yeah I did mine last week. And of course it's more than just doing the fuel pump with my truck... the tank had rot and a hole in it, so I had to order a new tank! I painted it and clean the crap out of everything. Nice and new.
I have power slot drilled rotors and Hawk pads. I switched to Hawk pads bc of noise from the power slot brand. So far Hawks are the only ones i'd use again.

If it were a 2 door, i'd go for it. Otherwise 206k is a truck that will need tlc. The most common issues are the intake gaskets leaking coolant b/c of a defect and the fuel injectors which are located under the intake manifold. If they havn't been done, that will probably be your first repair.

Read here and on other boards, and even posted q uestions about 1.6 ratio not working with vortec heads b/c of the pushrods rubbing against the head. The conclusion was that the holes had to be elongated, So I went with 1.5's on mine.
