    Gauge Cluster Repair

Oh, I didn't replace the switch, just replaced my stepper motors and backlight bulbs. From my experience and research I would almost bet money it's just the resistors. If you want, take your cluster apart and check out the cluster of 7 resistors that control the PRNDL and I bet resoldering them...

    Need new instrument cluster

I just repaired my 2004 Denali cluster! It's the same as yours... my cluster had 2 of 7 working gauges and 3 of 12 working backlight bulbs. I'm only a college student and car enthusiast and I tackled it this weekend. I'm confident anybody could do it! I used this kit off of eBay with the latest...

    Backup Camera non-OEM

The problem I see is that the aftermarket monitor runs off of RCA outputs. I'm not certain, but I believe the factory head unit does not have any RCA outputs. I'm running an aftermarket head unit so I'm not much help but you'll have to look into that for sure. Maybe you could find some sort of...

    Gauge Cluster Repair

A second look is always good! Removed it to solder in my new lights and checked the tach stepper. All 4 points had good solder except one wasn't making contact due to a broken "solder pad" on the board. So I reflowed it and made it stretch a bit longer. Popped it back in and bam, everything is...

    Strange electrical issues

    1) With a fully charged battery, unhook the negative battery cable from the negative battery terminal. 2) Place a heavy rated multimeter (10A+) in between the negative cable and the negative terminal of the battery. 3) Turn your multimeter to the 10A or higher position and if you're doing it...

Would you list more details about what you did? That's really, really clean and I can't use mine with my aftermarket radio.

    Strange electrical issues

If you haven't yet, I would recommend a parasitic draw test. If you don't know how to do one you can look it up though I assume you probably do or I can tell you. With a draw narrowed down to a specific circuit, wiring diagrams, and a multimeter a frustrating draw can be easily found and fixed...

    Gauge Cluster Repair

Hey everybody, here with another thread on fixing my heap haha. Last night and today I did a DIY fix on my 2004 Denali gauge cluster. I had a large parasitic draw through the "IPC/DIC" circuit as well as multiple issues with my cluster. As you can see it needed attention... After much...

    New Denali owner.. few questions

Hey welcome to the forum and very nice Denali!!! I wish mine was as nice as that. Your paint code will be on the RPO sticker in the glovebox. It is on the bottom left follow BC/CC. You will be able to look up the color and I'm assuming it is silver birch metallic. Everything else has pretty...

Thanks for responding guys! You gave me some things to try and just having somebody reach out and try to help is nice! Stay posted... I'm sure there will be plenty more threads about my bucket. Thanks and enjoy a laugh on me haha

    Need some security system knowledge!

UPDATE! So my friend came over and in all my frustration he said why not unplug the seat (mentioned earlier I was working on a power seat connector). Well, after 30 more minutes of dicking with it I tried it and bang she fired right up! The master driver seat harness has 16 pins and uses 14...

It's alright just trying to figure it out. Tried to hook up a scan tool and it won't read anything or communicate. I think the Passlock has completely disabled the vehicle :(

I got nothing... same thing. DIC doesn't light up at all until after cranking. I'm gonna get a code read on it and see if I find anything. Other than that I'm lost, I need a scan tool! Thanks though, it was worth the try!

Hey it's free and it can't hurt much. I'll try it! So disconnect the battery, ground the positive cable to the body, then try it again? Just waned to make sure I understood ya

    Need some security system knowledge!

Hey everyone, hope you're staying warm this winter season! My 2004 Denali Project has been a great patience builder! I just re-pinned and soldered in a new connector for the driver side power/heated/memory seat harness after finding the connector melted from a power-ground short. Today when I...

    Need Help... Memory/Power Seats

Hey everybody! Working on the seats in my 2004 Denali and I could really use some help... The driver power seat worked intermittently when I bought it. Come to find out the 16 pin connector is melted together and won't come apart at all (shorted). The power and ground aren't even hooked to...

    Me: Project Denali

Yes! Haha great guess! Yes I'm halfway through my studies in Automotive/High Performance here and I have to say I love the school. I trek back and forth from Lima to Muncie all the time; found the Denali in Indianapolis and I'm glad I did. My little Cobalt won't do so well come winter

Thanks everyone! I think I got a pretty good deal myself. Interior pictures to come after I clean her up this weekend. Personally like the factory Denali wheels but I'm not complaining about the old style rims. Definitely will update and get involved!

    Me: Project Denali

Hello Everyone! Just here to introduce myself and my project. I'm from Indiana and attend college in Northwest Ohio. My dad has always worked at GM and I have a firsthand appreciation for their trucks/suvs (and especially the Gen III engines). I decided to buy something with 4x4, heat, and a V8...
