This may be a long shot, but worth considering. Direct injection is great, but what the engineers did not account for is the lack of fuel cleaning the back side of the valves. This has been a huge problem plaguing the VW and BMW communities. Induction service/walnut blasting is typically what...
Thanks! Order arrived promptly and everything showed up in great condition. Easy install.
My Tahoe did not come with fogs. I ordered a harness from Gen5diy, installed a new fascia with tow hook cutouts and stock fogs and fog housings. Everything works great.
The tow hooks are the factory...
Definitely a quality piece.
Install note, you will need to use stock fog mounting brackets and transfer 1 clip and all of the little compression shaft adjusters from your stock lights onto the Morimoto Fogs. Let me know if you run into any trouble. I used a socket, a screw driver and rubber...
Dealer says its some kind of "gel pack" leaking from the rearview mirror module. Apparently I need to replace the rearview mirror. Definitely not water. It's an oily substance.
Unfortunately my Gen5DIY wiring harness is set so that the fogs are on when the headlights are on. In comparison to stock, I'd say it is comparable. The only reason to buy the morimoto fogs is for aesthetics in my opinion. Again, my opinion.
Here are some various photos to compare stock and the morimotos as well as my wife's stock suburban and the upgraded Tahoe. The photos don't really do them justice.
I got all the lights installed this evening. I'll post up photos, install notes and final thoughts this weekend. What orientation do the led s need to be? Top and bottom or left and right?
I am waiting for my PPV lower fascia/air dam to deliver and then I'll install them and let you know. They definitely look better than the stock fogs, but unsure as to how they will perform in comparison to stock housings with led bulbs. My gut tells me they will be better just comparing the design.
Thanks!
I went with 20s. I could have gone bigger, but part of the appeal of forged wheels is light weight. I thought this style looked "sporty" and that kind of goes with the theme of my truck.
Thank you. I haven't decided on the tire yet. The build time on these is 6-8 weeks so I have a little time. These will be my summer wheels so im thinking something with a sporty/aggressive tread pattern. You?
