could be something as simple as the MAF unplugged. I had my airbox out of the 2017 'Burb 6-7 times yesterday while fiddling with the headlights.
1/2 the time no CEL. The other 1/2 the time it would throw codes. All were evap related. My 2001 'Burb threw an evap code when I cleaned the MAF...
The factory x-bars are only $180 or so. They come with a special allen wrench with a torque indicator to prevent over-tightening the nuts. I've seen them on eBay for that price. and knock-offs are cheaper
be aware that the roof rails have positions for 3 x-bars. I need to pickup a 3rd for...
The -Y91 harness essentially feeds directly off the fuse box. 20A for lows, 15A for the LED. Plenty of power to drive HID. But probably better to drive HID off a separate 12v battery source.
I was initially concerned about swapping the leads. But I also have LED low beams. And they draw less...
If you look at the wiring diagram, the LTZ LED strip is physically different than LS/LT LED.
I R Mekanic, but it looks like a logic circuit for the Y91 setup that allows for variations. Which gives us the brightness difference.
I haven’t dug through the upfitter manual yet, but I’m betting...
was bored today and decided to fix a factory mistake for the non-LTZ models
DIY to make your LS/LT headlights to LTZ function
I'd love to hear thoughts/ideas about this. It works great, cannot find any negative at the moment.
Premise: Make 2015-2017 LS/LT headlights act like LTZ headlights
LTZ vehicles have RPO code Y91 (MERCHANDISED PKG-LUXURY EDITION…ie: Upgraded Lights). This package is a different wiring harness and uses PCM programming to accomplish LED strip as the DRL.
Chevrolet - RPO Code X88
Cadillac -...

Quick and painless. Takes 2 tools and about 20 minutes.

So at 0400 I went to drive to work and the heads started flickering. 2 flickers and they extinguished. Threw a CEL.
The engine running provides some sort of electrical loop. Didn’t happen last night while testing with engine off and just the switch
Spent 30 minutes in the dark putting original...
I've been running 265/70R18 (33") General Grabber AT2 for 2yrs now. Load Range E.
I absolutely love them. Sure the ride is a little harsher. I run 42-44 psi year around.
They are amazing in the snow, and other than a little bit of road noise have been perfect. put about 25k miles on them...
nice. I may pick up one of those keypads and mount on the windshield. It's kinda ugly on the door.
Ford has been making these since the 90's that apply with double sided tape. Rather cool that Chevy finally got onboard.
I wish. GM/ONSTAR got stupid greedy and in April 2018 they changed the...
my 2015 Tahoe LS was a great vehicle
Bought new May 2014 with 53 miles
Traded in May 2018 at 41k miles
Chevy did oil changes for 2yrs. I did the remaining 2yrs worth. The butterfly exhaust flapper valve squeaked, so I pinned it open. The drivers seat clicked, so I fixed with rubber and a...
I would use Black Bear. They’ve been in the industry for years and you’ll find hundreds of satisfied customers for every pissed off one
The company has even commented here in this post. Did you even bother asking them? Or just succumb to internet-itis and believe something you read online...
1. Don't waste money on a CAI. unless you want the noise, you aren't doing a damn thing. The OEM airbox will outflow them anyways, and even with tuning a CAI will only net you 7-10 HP. That's hundreds thrown at the motor for no real gain IMO
2. Just tune it. Get rid of the damn torque...
My 2015 Tahoe LS yanked a 8k trailer/f250 across CT quite easily. Motor and transmission did phenomenally to get the load going. And Tow/Haul mode was quite nice at keeping it under control and stopped easily.
The factory tires are utter POS. I installed Load Range E tires and at 50 psi it's...
2wd or Auto is fine on street for towing
4wd only offroad when traction needed
I will say that I leave mine in 2wd 99% of the time. That is to reduce wear and tear on components. In nasty weather I put it into AWD. And immediately put back into 2wd afterwards.
in AWD mode the front axle and...
can you give a long term feedback to this?
I have my aftermarket foglights triggered off the low beam feed right now. but am interested in doing your swap. LED Fogs and I will be swapping to LED head bulbs shortly.
mainly worried about long term issues by having these swapped. I can fix...
I have to transfer from Connecticut to Southern Georgia. About 1100 miles of driving. We intend to use the 'Burb as tow vehicle with our Sorento on a u-haul trailer. Family of 6 inside with a dog.
U-Haul Trailer weighs 2,200 lbs
2019 Kia Sorento V-6 AWD weighs 4100 lbs
so fudge a bit for gas...
sounds like a session of Congress in here. just my honest opinion lol
I had a 2015 Tahoe. Bought brand new in May 2014. owned until May 2018
-53 miles to 42k miles in 4yrs
-over 10 recalls performed in first 2yrs of ownership. another 3 in last year I owned it.
-exhaust check valve squeak...
