Bilstein shock swap - installation questions

Very easy. I did it with basic tools in about 30 minutes. Shock numbers are: Front 24-186643 Rear 24- 187237 I believe those are correct. They are for 0-2.5 inches of lift which should be fine for what you have. I bought mine from 4 wheel parts online, they helped me get the correct ones...

    Which keys (again)?

Lol! $300.00 keys..... I bought my keys and rear spring spacers off eBay. Less than $50.00 for both. If your only going up 2 inches in the front, I don’t think you will need to relocate the shock mounts, but I’m not 100% sure. I used bilstein 5100 designed for Lifted trucks. If your just...

    Which Bilsteins for leveled Z71?

I just added aftermarket keys and 1.5 spacers in rear to my 2004 Z71. Bought them both(keys and spacers off eBay for less than $80.00). I used the 0-2.5 front and 0-3 rear bilstein 5100’s.

    Everyday drivable lift?

Then your only option is aftermarket keys and coil spacers for the rear. I bought mine off eBay and paid less than $100.00. You will need to get an alignment, and you may need shock extenders if you don’t replace with longer shocks. I bought 3 inch keys and 1.5 inch spacer for the rear coils...

Cranked keys. How do my Suspension angles look?

With my stock keys cranked all the way, I was about 1/4 inch lower in the front. Looked level but if you measured it, you would get different numbers. I would just crank the Stocks up to where you want it and leave it. Make sure you get it lined up.

Cranked keys. How do my Suspension angles look?

I have the same truck and mine rides fine. I really don’t think it will be any stiffer if you add larger keys and spacers.

Cranked keys. How do my Suspension angles look?

You’ll get used to the ride and before long it will feel like it did before....at least mine did. Unless you are doing extreme hard off roading, suspension angles won’t cause too much of an issue. I have aftermarket keys and spacers, I am at about 39.5 at all four corners.

    Leveling kit on smooth ride

Then definitely full suspension lift or keys and spacers. Check around for some springs off of a Z71 suburban. They are a little taller than regular Tahoe and suburbans. I have the keys and 1.5 inch spacers in the rear. Prior to new keys and spacers I was about 1/2 inch lower in the front...

    Leveling kit on smooth ride

If this is the ZW7 code(premium smooth ride), I believe you will need to replace the rear springs with a stiffer spring, otherwise it will sag in the rear and ride crappy. If it’s 2wd, rough country sells a 3 inch lift spindle that will work well on the front, you can then buy taller springs...

Need some help/info on lifting my 2004 2wd Tahoe

It’s actually much easier than lifting a 4wd. You can do what I did on my Z71 4wd and get aftermarket keys and crank up the torsion bars in the front, and add spring spacers in the rear. Should get 2.5-3 inches that way. Or rough country has a 3 inch spindle lift for the front, would still...

    Torsion key question?

If your not running over sized tires, then imo stay with stock. I am running 33x11.5x20 and mine still rub in the rear under heavy articulation. I would definitely add the rear bilsteins. I am running the ones you have on front on all four corners.

    Torsion key question?

That would be maxing out the stock keys. Different trucks have different side heights depending on the springs. My Z71 Tahoe sits about an inch higher than a regular Tahoe in stock form. I bought my keys and spacers on eBay for less than $70.00. If you want level without maxing out, swap out...

    Torsion key question?

if there is space between the top of the key and where it hits the frame, you can. I think my front was almost 37 on stock keys, but it’s a Z71 and I think they may sit a little higher due to the springs. I added 1.5 coil spacers in the rear and 3 inch keys in front. I am sitting about 39...

Best place to buy replica wheels

Yep, when you can’t find the wheels you want in OEM you do. I mean no one says you have to, but don’t rip someone a new ass because they do. Besides that.....the wheels I bought would have cost me over $500.00 per wheel. I spent $745.00 for what I bought....I’ll take my chances.....

Best place to buy replica wheels

Just purchased a set of reps from OE wheels distributors. So far I am completely satisfied. No balance issues at all.

    Let's see your Projector Headlights!

I know this is an old thread, just hoping you may see this and respond. I’ve just purchased a set of These and mine don’t light up that well. I also have an issue with the aiming. I have the low beams set about even, but when I switch to high beam, the passengers side is higher than the...

    Spacers

It’s definitely the offset, which is why I thought a small spacer would solve it. The Nittos I currently have on the truck are 295/55/20, which are actually 12.17 inches wide. I think if they were actually 11.6 they Probably would not rub. I am over 200,000 on vehicle, but.....I had what I...

    Spacers

I have zero rub on the highway, only rubs when rear axle is in heavy articulation.....going into a steep drive at an angle. I can make it work as is, I rarely go off road, but I would rather have no rub at all. Nitto ridge grapplers measure larger than what a normal 295/55/20 shows on a tire...

    Spacers

They are the same offset as the 17” snowflakes, or so I have been told. Are you saying the offset is wrong for the tire, or the truck. It is a stock OE LTZ wheel. I appreciate your input.

    Spacers

I finally did it, I bit the bullet and added 3 inch keys, 1.5 inch spacers and 5100 billsteins. Found a set of aluminum LTZ wheels and had them power coated black. Went online and ordered a set of 295/55-20 Nitto ridge grapplers. Let me start by saying if you are using a tire comparison website...

    RW replica wheels

Anyone use or have any thoughts on RW replica wheels? I am looking at set of black 20x9 on eBay, but lots of negative information on google. I honestly don’t know how they could be different than any other aftermarket wheels.

    Keys and 1 inch spacers

Corvette 744, any trimming needed? Any rubbing? What offset are you using on the wheels. I am looking at 20" fuel couplers and would like to run 33 x 12 if possible, looks like your tires are about 11. I am adding aftermarket keys and 1.5 inch spacer to the rear. I appreciate your input.
