Hello GM Customer service if you are here, maybe you can help me figure out why no dealership is able to diagnose a strong fuel /emission smell during every start on our still under powertrain warranty Suburban.
so far 2 local dealership are not able to.
I hear unspent fuel leaks sipping in the...
We have a LT suburban
Granted we got our used so 90% of them here are LT ex rentals, but I really like the LS too.
I like the 18"s (even if I have 22" myself),clearly 18" offer way better ride quality if you stay with a road tire with soft sidewalls
I love the LS cloth, why, well the leather in...
Thank you! I was told as well that its impossible by the dealership apart from getting a whole new front bumper
LOL!
so thanks again, I ordered all 5 GM parts number, and the Gen5DYI harness.
I will even attempt to install myself
I think I will get the tow Hook powercoated RED for s different...
is there a simple way to ask the dealer to add foglights, I dont even need the switch toturn them on or off, just as simple as possible
do you mind sharing your part list for them and the process?
I am hoping there is a simpler way than what is on the sticky post for them
this was indeed a very objective way to report the maintenances items and issues you had to deal with on your Tahoe.
So in the interest of discussion, I'll give my 2 cents of some of the issue I dealt with and some I am still dealing with on my 15 Suburban with 69k miles:
-The Seat back on the...
the cargo space of the SWB is ridiculous. I understand if you turn it to a 5 seater it gets bigger but a freakin traverse has more room than a taheo behind the third row.
Ivin74,
Thank you so very much.
This is why these forum are awesome.
Everyone,
If what Ivin74 is refering to happens to be the real issue, it will now be the second time this community will have helped me a bunch.
First time was when a member posted about the AC compressor failing along with...
The dealer detected the smell as well when they changed the evap canister, and concluded it was a fuel smell.
I also believe it is now, my previous assessment thinking it was a sweet smell was driven by what another independent shop was telling me.
I am now going back to the dealership who is...
I installed Dualer A/T 285/45r22 on my suburban to replace the HT who only had 5k miles.
I loved the way they looked after I saw them on a sierra denali offroad package.
so far we used them 90% for on road and they are softer than the HT, I do like the way they ride.
I cant speak about how long...
Update:
Dealership replace Evap Canister.
Didn't change a thing.
Convince me not to set this thing on fire and go get a Toyota something to haul kids around.
so sick of nobody able to diagnostic correctly the issue.
I got the following GM accessories and I regret none of them, perfect fit, functionality and added style:
-22" Premier wheels, the same as on the R.S.T but painted silver
-Front illuminated Black Bowtie
-rear Black Bowtie
-all weather rubber mat in 2nd row, 3rd row and trunk
-in the front I got...
any drone at all with the exhaust? I assume by Borla you mean the GM accessory exhaust system by Borla? I'd only get an exhaust system for my family ride if I would be guaranteed
there is no drone while cruising.
I also have installed Bil 5100 but I have done front and rear, I do not have max tow.
I actually saw an improvement on the dampening, and ride quality. But my truck was also 55k miles at time of install, so the stock shock were not new.
yep mine were set at 1.7 max in the front resulting in a...
I looked into what people had to say about ride quality as well when I switched to 22" compared to my stock 18.
When comparing 18 vs 22 on both street tires, it is undeniable that ride quality takes a toll. I was surprised that the decrease in ride quality was actually minimal on my suburban...
Cool 420s in that size.
I went with OEM size All terrain (if you can call them all terrain at all) Dualler A/T on my 22's.
Can you share a side and rear picture with these tires installed?
thx!
This is not something at all I smell on the inside, the smell is on the outside when we are loading the vehicle. thats why I first thought it was leaking exhaust but was later told that it smells more like sweet rubbing alcohol.
thank you very much that is further good input for the things to check for the coolant.
I am now confident I will find what is going on. I will do a reply soon to detail my plan of action and who inputed on what, I will make it interactive with you guys.
I came to the realization that if I made my post a bit funny, maybe I would grab attention. I am glad you enjoyed it.
Since people seem to enjoy the format, my follow up shall be next level.
I will use terms that will likely make me shine and other Forum members will envy my replies.
I will...
I will try that.
I can easily empty it out and put water in its place to see if it changes things.
my issue with this is that I dont smell anything close to engine bay but rather on driver side front front to back.
I will investigate that and the coolant for possible leak.
the smell is much...
UrbanSuburban,
Where does the Dexcool travels back and forth? is it just engine to radiator and back? or is it used to go somewhere else like rear A/C, Rear entertainment (joking), etc...?
thank for your reply
