    I'm not sure if I would call it top of the line, but doesn't the sport have all the options and the z71 package? I know it came with fender flares and black bumpers, outlined red bow tie, etc. (the Sport) You could order a non sport model with all the options too with the chrome bumpers though...

    It will fit. They are both 4L60E tranny's out of the same year (1996) and are both 2wd. It is the same exact trans so it should be a direct swap.

    If it's a 17" rim, I would run a 285/70/17. It's about a 33" tire and should fit with minor torsion bar cranking, if any.

    You would still have to re-gear it. The 14 bolt semi float is just a lot stronger than the 10 bolt. If you could find an axle with 4.10 gears, I'd say that should be good for a 295/75/16.     Few irritating problems

    Seafoamed a couple months ago with less than impressive results. It hardly smoked, but helped with the hesitation problem a little. I'm going to check the injectors and fuel pressure. The more I think about it, it sounds fuel related. Hell, who knows how old the pump is.

    If i were you, I would deffinetly look into getting a heavier duty rear axle such as the GM 14 bolt semi float instead of throwing money into the garbage 10 bolt. This is a better foption or trucks that are lifted and get the crap wheeled out of them. It will hold up a lot better that the 10...

    The cheapest solution would be to pick up a used 4L60E from a bone yard or off craiglsit. You can probably pick up a decent one for under $500. But going this route, there is no gurantee to how long it will last and there is no warranty.
