    E85 or regular gas?

Hopefully you'll find this calculator helpful: https://gaspumpr.com Give it the price of gasoline in your area (don't forget the last 9), it'll spit out ethanol price targets. (Note that when it says higher octane will not improve MpG, that page ignores pcm / ecm tuning.)

    Transmission Temp question on 2016

We appreciate it. Too many schmendricks don't bother updating. Find out whichever is the most modern updated spec for 8L90 ATF, and use that. Stay away from 'new old stock'.

    E85 or regular gas?

Pre-2000 vehicles with fuel systems built prior to ethanol in gasoline might've had that problem. You need newer reading material. fueleconomy.gov's opinion: https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/ethanol.shtml#/find/nearest?country=US&fuel=E85 If E85 costs at least 15% less than gasoline in your area...

    Additional Jack Points

Anywhere that it'd be safe to jack up under a uni-body / monocoque car, it'd be safe to jack up under a body-on-frame car ... plus nearly anywhere on the frame (except for parts of the frame that are unreinforced C-channel).

Valet dipshit put my 4x4 on - drove for a bit on dry pavement ok?

Only those with (too much) experience doing something like this would be able to give you a clearer idea of how bad this is. Were I you, I'd remove & refresh the lubricants in the offended parts. If you TRULY want a definitive answer, when you drain out the old lubricant, capture some of it...

Aluminum / XFE NNBS Front Suspension Rebuild

Anyone willing to experiment so that we can all learn from the results gets my endorsement. (I'm looking for assistance in modding my Tahoe into a 'Z60' using my VERY loose definition of 'GM OE' ...)

Never ending debate - best oil weight

If that screen by the oil pressure sender is partially clogged, I wonder how long it would take Valvoline Restore & Protect to unclog that screen?

    What brand name oil

SOME of Mobil 1's motor oils are Group4 synthetics, others are Group3. Group3 is just hydrocracked de-paraffinated extra virgin fossil marrow with impurities minimized. Castrol lobbied for this definition, by the way. It's why I stopped using any / all Castrol after they stopped making their...

I had the GM Performance Exhaust installed

It's cheap & easy to differentiate otherwise identical hardware by changing several lines of code.

Spare FPCM (Fuel Pump Control Module) WISE IDEA!!!!

Sometimes parts get superseded because improvements are made - but sometimes not. Nearly always, when a part number gets 'updated', it is seen as an opportunity to increase the price, whether or not any improvements were realized.

    Do torsion bars wear out?

Once a GM vehicle is +10 years old, GM stops making LOTS of stuff for it. As said, put your VIN in the GM Parts Giant VIN Decoder, then search for the closest match. Personally will not recommend going any softer. (I'm looking for torsion bars from Z60 Sielverrados ...)

    Valvoline Restore & Protect experiment

'Too far before' would be a brand new engine, of course. To steelman the argument, the LONG-TERM goal is an engine that looks brand new. Keep using it. That's what I'm gonna do.

Best oil filters to help with oil pressure?

Despite that BobIsTheOilGuy has not gotten any easier to understand and likely never will, hell yes.

    Do torsion bars wear out?

Of course springs wear out, don't matter if they're coils or torsion bars. Thankfully they wear out VERY SLOWLY. Spring pockets / torsion bar sockets likely wear out more quickly than the springs / torsion bars themselves.

    Do torsion bars wear out?

Mentioned that it is a PARTIAL list - please feel free to add to it if you find pertinent missing data. Plug your VIN into GM Part's Giant's VIN Decoder https://www.gmpartsgiant.com/vin-decoder.html it'll be interesting to see what comes up to replace those 'ostensibly obsolete' parts.

    Do torsion bars wear out?

Here is part of a torsion bar chart batboy found Dec 2017. https://www.performancetrucks.net/forums/gm-drivetrain-suspension-22/my-torsion-bar-adventure-551119/#post5426232 Added to the list from this post...

    2012 Tahoe SSV

Transmission (which warms up after engine by about 5-15min, depends on how cold outside) must be up to operating temp. Pull out dipsdick ( :p ), cover tube with something. Clean dipstick off as best you can. With engine idling, shift into D, then R, then D, then R, until you get bored, then...

    Running Rich After Injector Replacement

Here's the problem. In Spanish: Lo barato, sale caro ... cheap turns out to be expensive. Most cheap@$$ injectors: are likely not actually octuplets (bad quality control, they do not behave identically) are significantly different from what the tune expects If the pcm gives two different...

2001 GMC Yukon XL (Aka Beast)

Bet this will go underappreciated. My '02 'idles at 400RpM' for months now, despite that the engine sounds and continues to behave just fine. @makintoshnex, did you have the oil pressure checked with an external gauge?

2010 Tahoe LT PPV Front Wheels Get Very Hot.

Assuming that you have no kinaesthetic braking issues (as in, any brake fade or brake knock?) you should look into brake ducting - diverting underbody air towards the rotors and calipers. Before looking into braking upgrades - GM OE 2016-2019 non-PPV front brakes which require 18" wheels and...

    What happened?

Problem is that the temp that most people think of as critical overheating (256F) only applies if that very hot coolant is still circulating, such that there are no hot spots. Think towing uphill in Death Valley on a hot summer day. If there are any coolant circulation issues, however, when the...

    2012 Tahoe SSV

The other thing that seems to delay lifter / cam lobe problems is changing oil & filter more often than GM's Oil Life Monitor suggests. GM recommends oil changes when it hits 15% (NOT 0%!) but never over 7500 miles, and never over 1 year regardless of miles. FYI, most NYC cabdrivers / livery /...

Are the Dual Piston Rear Calipers noticeably better?

4piston front brake kit fits under 18" wheels. 6piston front brake kit needs 20" wheels.

    What happened?

Noise would suggest that the H2Opump is grinding itself to death, which could be the pump itself if there are no fluid leaks, provided the H2Opump is old enough. Otherwise, you haven't yet found the leak. If you're in the mood to fire the parts cannon, remember to always fire the lower caliber...

    2012 Tahoe SSV

At an average lifetime speed of 16.06MpH, 1. yes, I'd DEFINITELY change the ATF, differential, radiator, and any other fluids you feel like refreshing. 2. If they truly are functional, someone with more SSV experience will help you out with those. 3. Did you check axle & hub bearings? Any other...
