SOLVED: Please help identify this noise

It is indeed the air compressor. Pulled the AC compressor fuse then stood back by the air compressor. Loud as heck!

SOLVED: Please help identify this noise

It's not that. I know what that sounds like. This is coming from the engine bay. So unless there's a compressor up there, that's not it.

SOLVED: Please help identify this noise

2011 Yukon Denali XL 6.2L deleted. Fuel pump is brand new (AC Delco). Water pump/oil pump replaced 2 years ago when it was deleted. I suspect it's the AC compressor as well since the cold air stops after around 20-25 min.

SOLVED: Please help identify this noise

So it started a few months ago. Took it to my mechanic and he couldn't seem to find the source. I placed the phone centered on the engine bay, right above the grill. It's worse when its cold. It happens with the heat on and off. It only happens on start up. The only thing that has recently...

    GM 6L80 Transmission Information Thread

So this is probably going to sound like a dumb question but let me give a little bit of back history. My transmission blew in July replaced with a new one direct from GM. GM had to reprogram the TCM which meant the custom tune I had was out of sync. Therefore a ton of bad clunking and...

Thinking of Buying a 07-14 NNBS Tahoe/Suburban? Look Here

Sort of have the opposite. I'm thinking of selling my 2011. It has $20k plus in repairs/replacements including deleted, new transmission, rear factory shocks, trans lines, oil pump, water pump, radiator, rear main seal, bigger camshaft, all new tires and custom tune. Not a spot of rust on it...

    Post New Transmission: Infamous Clunks

Was able to get it back to Baker Engineering to put the tune back on. Seems to be better but still some minor clunking. Not sure where to go from here.

    Post New Transmission: Infamous Clunks

This is exactly what happened. Once it was deleted, they did a special tune for performance especially when towing. Assuming it was done in tow mode but not sure. The downshift happened a little before the transmission blew but now it's a ton worse. So whatever settings the GMC dealer did with...

    Post New Transmission: Infamous Clunks

I've heard these horror stories in West Michigan, too. It's a class action suit in the making for GMC.

    Post New Transmission: Infamous Clunks

Misunderstood. The new transmission was programmed at a GMC dealer in Greenville, OH (Hittle GMC).

    Post New Transmission: Infamous Clunks

So far, not a single GM dealership has returned my call. @NickTransmissions because I have a custom tune, are they going to give me the runaround, and, ultimately void any warranty?

    Post New Transmission: Infamous Clunks

But wouldn't the vehicle not work properly if it went back to the default tune? I mean I told the transmission guy that he could not flash Nick, thank you. Here is the history: July 2023: Engine rebuilt due to lifters, deleted, custom tune optimized for towing. July 2024: Transmission blows...

    Post New Transmission: Infamous Clunks

As I posted here last month, my transmission blew and was replaced with a GM OEM one. Since then, I am having a terrible time with 2-3 clunks when stopping. It did happen with the old transmission but only when towing. Now, it's everyday driving. I have a custom tune so not sure where to start...

Slow Crank When Engine Hot: Replace Battery Cables?

Injectors were all inspected when I did the engine rebuilt last summer. This has been an ongoing issue for over two years. I replaced the EVAP solenoid as well as the canister. Have not looked at the purge valve.

Slow Crank When Engine Hot: Replace Battery Cables?

I will certainly see if my mechanic can do it.

Slow Crank When Engine Hot: Replace Battery Cables?

The battery is good. New not even a year ago.

Slow Crank When Engine Hot: Replace Battery Cables?

When I posted on my transmission thread about a slow crank when my Yukon has been driving for a while, a kind member suggested replacing the battery cables. I chatted with my mechanic and he said the negative battery cable has been discontinued. Is that true? Any links on where I can get one...

Passenger side water leak under dash?

The dripping happened when the car was 100% dry. It was super humid out so it makes me think it was condensation.

Passenger side water leak under dash?

Drains on sunroof are clear and the surround bone dry. I replaced the resistor so will see if it happens again.

Passenger side water leak under dash?

Thanks! I'll check the sunroof. On occasion, the AC does smell like mildew but not all the time.

Passenger side water leak under dash?

My friend noticed last night that water was dripping on her leg on the passenger side dash. A little back history. I think I need a new blower motor resistor because at a certain speed or temperature the dash AC stops working. All other AC works. AC works fine on started up and for around 20-30...
