I am in the process of relocating the power outlets (both cigarette lighter and the 110v) from the dash to a new floor console. I am having trouble removing the cigarette lighter one from the original dash panel. I do NOT have the removal tool so am winging it here to get it out without...
How did you test the 110v plug? I used a voltmeter and got nothing. Thinking it wasn't operable, I did the next best thing and RTFM. According to the manual, there is no current supplied to the outlet UNTIL there is something plugged in and drawing that current. Safety feature I suppose. Might...
eBay - https://www.ebay.com/itm/295162201862
Originally I had one bought from Amazon but I didn't like the patterns or brightness so I got this one instead.
Visibility of course! Along with being a licensed firearm dealer, I also do mapping flights using a drone. This usually requires me to go out to an area that either has or can have heavy equipment in the area (construction site, aggregate pit, etc). I am usually required to have on the required...
The strobes are from Amazon and the 18" lightbar is from eBay. The links for both are below:

The lightbar is supposed to be mounted inside but I...
UPDATE:
Build is still progressing. I have one more lightbar to mount in the back window (accepting suggestions on mounting it from those with experience) and the lighting portion will be done. It goes in fto get new shoes tomorrow and then the console and all the related stuff that goes into it...
Not for that particular console but the floor plate for the Troy that came in the Tahoe is still there so I figured it wouldn't be that hard to make it work.
The prices I've seen for new ones are around $700-$1000. *Used* ones are going for $500-$600, So SOMEBODY thinks they are... ;-)
If anyone in the AZ area has one that they'd like to get rid of, please let me know. Not looking forward to the drive but also not paying $600 for a used one either...
I agree that there is something missing from the front. I decided against the strobes like I already have and went with something different. I'll post more when they arrive.
On another note, since my Troy console went wherever the mechanic that was modifying it went (and didn't tell me where...
Progress update: Slowly but surely I am getting things going. I've gotten all LED flashers working on the front. Debating with myself if I should add two more to the push bar. Opinions welcome. Also, updated the taillights & backup lights to LED bulbs. Had to use load equalizers for the brake...
I know that this is a REAL old post but wondered if you still had those center caps and attaching hardware. If so, would you consider selling them separate?
2 questions:
1) If I was to just run a new connection from the rear electrical panel to the center console area, what would be the minimum wire size, fuse protection and routing (easiest, least amount of tear-apart needed)
2) If I was to just run a new connection from the center console area...
I saw that on your acquisition timeline posts. ;-) They seem to be pretty pricey. I would do the same as you but not seeing the same thing in chrome. The link you sent says it doesn't fit my 2015 but a chrome one...
You would be 100% correct! I've put an ohm meter on the two large fuses on the + terminal of the auxiliary battery (Picture 1) and they both test ok. All wiring that you showed in your previous pictures looks ok. Where would the best place to start looking for that break in the main harness? I...
I have both the 2015 Tahoe 2WD Police Package 9C1 guide pgs 19-31 (several easier to read wiring diagrams) and the Special Equipment Options Section 15-1 through 15-17 but not an expert at reading the diagrams.
You have any ideas as to the 3rd and 4th photos? They come out from under the floor...
Ok. I am taking a break from trying to figure this out and will humbly ask for some help from the knowledgeable folks here. Here are the wire bundles currently in question:
The first picture has no tag or markings but has these three separate bundles with these connectors inside: The black...
I will have to check this more tomorrow. I went out and took a quick look but everything seems to be intact. Will grab the multimeter and dig a little deeper tomorrow. Thanks for pointing out a possible location to check!
I will post updated pics tomorrow. I got it back from the paint shop but it is sitting next to the better halfs '19 Ford Mustang so I don't want to muddy the waters..... ;-)
Unfortunately, no. I installed more than a few amber/white 4" lights around the vehicle and an amber/white lightbar on the roof but when they decommisioned it apparently they did their best to make it so someone like me doesn't do what I am doing. No power at the rear power panel and none from...
Thanks! If I am completely honest, I have always been a Ford guy so I know little about Chevy's and Tahoe's especially. If I can contribute, I certainly will but right now it has been "soak it all in" mode trying to make this a work truck with some character.
