Thank you for your replies - Will check the fan and see what I can on the mounts. Seems to me that being off kilter the way it is would cause excessive wear on the belts. Does NOT look normal to me and like I said - it was very up and down when I replaced the serpentine belt. I am no expert...
The continuing saga of my 2001 YukonXl 2500 SLT 4WD….
Noticed that the engine is tilted up at front, down at back toward firewall. I know that it didn't used to be like this. I replaced the serpentine belt and all was straight up and down. But that was before the fiasco that left me in limbo...
Thanks for the suggestions. Would a transmission shop do that? I have no place to do the work myself.
I do have a decent scanner but nothing registered in the past. Will hook it up again and see.
I don’t know that the trailer brake was a ‘plug in’ but I can take the controller and under dash...
The Transmission Temp Gauge on the dash jumps all over. It appears to jump to a what seems to be a legitimate temp then bounces down and up and so it goes. After a while it does seem to get to temp and stay there. The gauge cluster has been replaced but I think I was told that the Trans Temp...
The ongoing saga of my 2001 YukonXL SLT 4wd.
Took it in to verify the transmission was rebuilt and operating correctly as I have a weird clunking noise. Tranny checked out fine but was told the driveshaft was resting on the frame and the muffler shroud was not attached. The tranny shop "does...
I took it too 2 different body shops. The first made progress - the second got the doors about as good as I think they are going get. Still not perfect but not 'airy' or leaking. Sorry I don't have a magic fix. Do think it takes 2 people to work on it.
I have that same clunk. 2001 Yukon XL 2500 4wd. Last place I took it said the driveshaft was resting on the frame. Haven't taken it in to be fixed. So don't know if that is the problem.
The engine had been removed and gone thru - reinstalled with O'Reilly mounts- I'm sure. Should they be...
Ok - it’s the top of the shock I am seeing? That means the ‘trim’ on the liner was done by another shop who did the shocks?
Is that boot part of the shock?
sorry to be stupid but haven’t really looked at all this stuff before.
Thanks for your help. Liners still look like wrong ones to me but I...
The dealer said I needed them - so I had them put them in.
My questions are- based on the photos
was the mechanic lazy and cut the inner fender lining OR
was the guy who had the Yukon for 2 years and made a mess of it on the hook for replacing the original liners with the wrong size from...
Has anyone used the Dorman Power Seat track repair kit? Driver’s side seat making awful noise but all adjustments work.
Thinking this might fix but hoping some one else has done the same?
I have an innova clone from HF that has done the same on my 2001 Yukon. Threw 40 codes. Then went done to about 10. we can compare lists if you like.
The interesting thing is that no other scan - dealer and an ac delco shop - have been able to reproduce the codes.
The fact that you are having...
Thank you. That is great advice. If I use a dealer again for the Yukon, I will be VERY specific. I think previously I have assumed they know so much more than I do ….
Thanks to folks here and a lot of other research, I am A LOT smarter but still a novice
Thank you. I agree. Was hoping the dealer would work on the elec issues - not like I didn’t ask them to.
Have figured out that this dealer is an installer not a fixer. Their solution is take it out and replace and hope. They appear uninterested in tracking down gremlins and fixing.
yeah I knew it was a long shot - but ….
not sure what the door shims even look like
are the door seals the same as weatherstripping? Those are new
first is a partial pic of what was returned to me. Second shows better but still off and not centered
