Passenger side rear upper shock bolt - HOW??!!

Victory is mine! Had a good think on it yesterday after mowing the lawn. Finally got that sucker. Drivers side took all of like 15 minutes. Got it done before the sun goes start scorching us here in South Carolina today. We have been over 95 for at least 2 weeks now. Summer is not...

Passenger side rear upper shock bolt - HOW??!!

I did have the wheel liner removed and even went as far to take the heat shield off by the spare tire for more room to swing a ratchet around. The only way I can think of is either a 21 mm offset box end wrench on the inside and impact the nut off the outside. Possible to get a long thin...

Passenger side rear upper shock bolt - HOW??!!

I spent an hour messing with that pig and there is no combination of extensions, sockets, etc that I could get on that damn bolt with the rear a/c lines and that goddamn wire harness on the frame. I give up. It will be going into the shop hopefully next week. Any chance a dealership will...

Brightest D3S bulb for factory housing

Finally went for a drive at night with the new Osram NightBreakers and they do appear brighter, but nothing that is mind blowing. I guess I will just have to live with it for now as I'm tired of messing around with headlights as I got other irons in the fire.

Brightest D3S bulb for factory housing

I got the new bulbs installed on Saturday afternoon, but haven't driven with them at night. Just a quick test shining them on the garage door does seem brighter than the $40 Mars Auto bulbs I picked up off Amazon. Of course when I tried to take pictures on my phone to show how dimly they...

Brightest D3S bulb for factory housing

I decided to bite the bullet and just fork out the money for a set of Osram Nightbreaker HIDs as every review I can find on them shows they are the brightest in testing with other HID and LED options. I don't really care about the color temp rating at this point as long as I can see where the...

Brightest D3S bulb for factory housing

I am looking for some real world results with a high quality replacement low beam bulb for my 2017 Yukon Denali. I bought some HID $40 specials off Amazon that have a nice color but I’m not impressed at all with visibility when driving at night especially when it rains. I don’t mind putting...

    Help with possible purchace

If they do let you test drive it this time I would make sure to drive it long enough to make sure it reaches full operating temperature of 210 to verify good oil pressure and trans temperature as the trans temp will let you know if the updated/colder thermal bypass valve has been installed...

Oil Catch Can - Surprised By Results

I'm right there with you. I have a Range AFM in my Denali and also change out the oil at 5K miles with a bottle of Rislone. I have an extended warranty on the truck too, but I'm a firm believer in over maintaining my rides. The quote I was referencing was for the Vice Grip Garage fans. That...

To good to be true? / Advice

I would request the Chevy dealer to make sure to drive it until it reaches operating temperature and to make sure there are zero transmission issues (no shudder or weird shifting once fully warmed up) and zero valve train noises whatsoever. Have the dealer look to see if the updated thermal...

Ditched the 22 Snowflakes for 18" AT4 Wheels

I'm thinking of doing this same thing on my 17 Denali. It had 22" OEM wheels and they were pretty rough when I bought the truck last fall. I just replaced them with another set of 22" I bought brand new and the ride around town isn't horrible, but sure gets rough pretty quick on some...

    5.3 & 6.2 Lifter Failures Compilation Thread

I think mine started ticking last week and I'm thinking it's lifters or cam. Oil is fresh and correct Dexos approved 0W-20, all exhaust manifold bolts intact, and tick does increase with engine speed. Sounds upper end to me. See how my extended warranty handles this. If it becomes an issue...

    Oil catch cans freaking work

"Ford actually added back in port fuel injection on some of their engines, so those engines have both DI and port injection, for the purpose of keeping the back of the intake valves clean." Toyota does the same thing on some of their engines as well. I'm not completely versed in all things...

    Oil catch cans freaking work

I just put a J&L catch can on my 2017 Denali with the 6.2L a few weeks ago and it’s definitely doing its job. This is my first direct injected vehicle and after seeing all the videos with the carbon covered valves it was a no-brainer to put it on the truck. Super easy install and replaced the...

Spark Plug Fun - 2017 GMC Yukon Denali XL

I wanted to share the joy I had swapping out the plugs and wires on my 2017 GMC Yukon Denali this past weekend. I watched multiple YouTube videos to prepare myself and give me a plan of action going forward and boy was I glad I watched a few people do this job. I used every single tip/trick...

    2016 transfer case oil change

I would check the owners manual on your's but when I looked up some YouTube videos on mine it showed the transfer case fluid was Dexron VI transmission fluid. I think capacity was about 1.75 qts. I confirmed in AllData with my VIN that it would indeed take Dexron VI trans fluid for the...

    Operating Temperature - Transmission

Interesting...dropped it off this morning for the trans service at the dealership and took out my Range AFM disabler while I had it in tow mode to check the trans temperature. I watched the gauge go from about 150 (maybe a shade over that) and jump to 175 the second I took out the disabler. Is...

    Operating Temperature - Transmission

Just curious how long it all takes your transmission to get up to temp in normal driving around town? I have a 2017 Yukon XL Denali with the 8 speed and just this past week it popped a check eng light with codes P0700 and P0711 which I found is pretty much the temp fluid sensor on the trans...

Rear Seat Entertainment - Wireless options?

Is there a device that could plug into the HDMI port or the USB port in the rear of the center console for the rear seat entertainment that would allow an iPad to screen mirror or bluetooth connect instead of trying to mess with DLNA apps? I have had zero luck with DLNA apps. This is in a...

No issues from the condenser that I'm aware of, but the a/c has been able to keep up since I bought it. The drive back from Atlanta with it was comfortable and a/c was keeping up just fine. I guess I shall find out next summer when it starts to really heat back up again.

Here she is when I bought it about a month ago Here she is now… In the first month I’ve already dumped about $2K into it. Wheels, tint, and with the kids the WeatherTech HP floor liners are a must. If you had the OG floor liners before the new HP are so much better. More flexible and I...

Figured it was time to stop lurking and open a profile to dig deeper on any issues that might come up with my new (to me) truck, 2017 GMC Yukon XL Denali. This is my first experience with a top trim level truck and the 6.2L engine. I traded in my 2011 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 LT with the 5.3L...
