    2008 Tahoe 5.3L Flex P0300 Help

Final Update - I bit the bullet and put in a Texas Speed delete kit. I didn’t seat the cam gear properly and chewed up the cam sensor. Finally got it seated and new sensor in place. Truck runs great now. Thanks for everyone’s input and help.

2008 Tahoe No Start after DOD Delete

Final Update - I was able to reset the cam gear without having to drop the oil pan. I got the timing aligned and put in a new cam position sensor. Truck fired right up on the first try and drives great now. I was expecting to need to do a relearn on the cam and crank position sensors, but it...

2008 Tahoe No Start after DOD Delete

SOLVED. I did not seat the cam timing gear all the way even though it bolted in fine. I pulled the camshaft position sensor this morning and saw that the gear shaved a millimeter off of the end. I’m going to remove the timing cover and see if I can seat the gear without having to do the bigger...

2008 Tahoe No Start after DOD Delete

I could use some help. I did a DOD delete with a Texas Speed kit including GM non-DOD cam, LS7 lifters, new push rods, and replaced most of the sensors (cam, crank, O2’s, MAF, etc). After completing the rebuild, the engine won’t fire. It will crank without spark. Fuel pressure is fine and all...

UPDATE: #6 intake lift is stuck closed again. This was the original issue that caused me to do all the work. These are new lifters. Why would this keep sticking?

    2008 Tahoe 5.3L Flex P0300 Help

A quick update for the group.. I found that the oil fill tube was broken and causing a vacuum leak in the right bank. That cleared the P0300. I was then getting misfires in #3 and #6. I played with moving wires, coils and plugs and found a bad wire on #3. #6 keeps misfiring. I bought a...

    2008 Tahoe 5.3L Flex P0300 Help

I mistyped that one. It should have been 87 octane. I ran E85 in it a couple years back for two tanks and the mileage dropped.

    2008 Tahoe 5.3L Flex P0300 Help

I am the original owner. The Tahoe has 100k miles on it. I have kept up on all the maintenance. It started originally with #6 misfire, and I could hear a faint ticking. After reading a bunch of threads on this site, I assumed it was a failed lifter, hence the laundry list of work done. I’ve been...

    2008 Tahoe 5.3L Flex P0300 Help

I could use some help from the group. I’m getting the P0300 misfire code with a rough idle and seems to be dumping fuel in the right bank. Ive done a significant amount of work with no results. - pulled heads and replaced AFM lifters and trays. Old lifters showed no damage. New valve seals and...
