Good Evening Guys,
08 Tahoe - 5.3L V8 - 164K Miles
Vehicle started to throw two errors which was identified as being a failing O2 sensor.
P0155 - 02 Sensor Heater Circuit Bank 2 Sensor 1
P0050 - HO2S Heater Control Circuit Bank 2 Sensor 1
So far, that doesn't seem to bad, right? Upstream O2...
Agreed and was weighing the options as the opportunities showed themselves.
We appear to be getting valid readings for now. If it acts up again in the future, then we can have some reasonable assurance that it’s not the sensor itself, and have the screen/filter already to replace.
Closing the loop here.
We went ahead and replaced the sensor this morning and can confirm that the pressure gauge has returned to life. We ended up not doing the filter that sits below inside of the block as we ended up not removing anything other than the engine cover and you really are doing...
Awesome, thanks for sharing. You’ve always been an awesome contributor here so thank you once again for your time!
I have (what I believe to be) a similar socket, ACDelco Engine Oil Pressure Sensor (12677836), and the accompanying filter (12585328) coming this week.
Good Evening Guys,
This forum was of a great help and a wealth of knowledge when I was chasing a vibration a few weeks ago so I am returning again with another issue to gather your thoughts on.
Vehicle - 08 Tahoe with the 5.3L Flex (162k Miles)
I went to leave for dinner this evening and I...
Bringing this hunt to an end here for anyone that might come across a similar issue in the future.
We replaced the rear driveshaft with a Doorman replacement last night and for now the vibration has completely went away. Once removed, the u-joint on the rear differential side was not moving...
j91z28d1 - thank you for the comments!
We have a new rear driveshaft and gasket ordered.
It will be a week or so for it to arrived and then probably another week before we can get around to installing.
Fingers crossed and will post with another update as soon as we have one.
Good Evening Guys,
Again, appreciate everyone's comments and knowledge transfers here.
We took the truck in for a PicoScope test was performed to further isolate the vibration. Which ended up pointing to the issue occurring in the rear of the vehicle.
- Advised to replace the U-Joints...
Update:
We replaced the front driveshaft with a Doorman replacement this morning and there was no change. The same vibration was still there.
After that, we swapped a different set of wheels and tires to rule those as being a potential issue and the issue persisted.
If we believe that the...
I appreciate everyone’s comments, ideas, and knowledge share on this.
We are going to start with replacing the front driveshaft this week and see where we end up with that. More updates to come.
I don't see any indication on the bolts of the u-joints of the rear driveshaft to suggest that they have been touched recently. They all look alike and not like they have had any tools put on them.
It goes without saying that you obviously know more about this drivetrain than I...
Having one...
Bummer! Manual would have been quite rare for sure.
Not to discourage any other comments but you are explaining this well. Needless to say, we have been stuck in circles tracing this down so we appreciate the time and input here.
Can you make any sense of why the vibration would've gotten...
j91z28d1 - thanks for the input and suggestion here. What color is your Z28?
Front driveshaft was/is the next thing on our minds as well. The dealer removed it from the first visit as indicated by marks on the bolts as well as chalk marks for indexing so not too afraid removing and replacing at...
Hey Swathdiver, thanks for the quick reply here.
I would say strongest through the seat. For example, if I have my phone on a vent mount above the radio, you can see the screen physically shaking with the vibration.
Tires were replaced back in November of '21 (~26k miles ago). Tires were...
Hey Guys,
I have been chasing a vibration with no success that appeared out of no where in my 08 Tahoe LTZ and am coming to more intelligent minds than my own for suggestions/input.
Vehicle Details: 2008 Tahoe LTZ 4x4 with 165k miles (no lights on dash and no codes returned when scanned)...
