99 tahoe classic body like 96-98 I get hot and cold air through all vents but i cant switch it to just defrost,vent or any combination. Look behind the fuse block and make sure there are not any melted wires. Then put that fuse in and turn defrost on and off to see if it has any effect in radio power. if radio does not turn on check the power going to radio behind fuse block if there is any power especilly if low power and wires...- Sobe Superman

mounting depth
I also have replaced al speakers in my 99 hoe recently. The depth is not something we can tell you because if the magnet is wide it will not fit in rear doors even if not very deep. RCA cable input are always on the opposite side of amp to keep them apart from power and ground.
