You have to use the brake to shift out of park in the run position but in the accessory position with just power to the radio you don't have to use the brake. It seems on safe.

Well I guess if your used to weak gas motors you would think the 5.3 was a good motor it's not it's junk. Any gas motor that was designed to burn oil is junk. I guess I'll just chock this up to a bad decision and trade it off for a real truck again. I'll go back to my 600hp 1000+ft-lb straight...
Over all the truck is ok, the motor is junk. I wouldn't want to swap another underpowered gas guzzling motor into it. I would swap a dmax into it and make it a real truck. But by the time I spend the money for that I could by a real truck instead of a mall cruiser.
I'm tring to. I see smoke upon acceleration. Not really any during start up. It's burnt through 4 quarts in the past two months. It also gets horrible mpg I'm lucky to get 12mpg out of it. And it is the flex fuel motor
I have a 2003 Yukon that is burning oil. I hate the car in the first place but need to get this figured out and fixed so I can live with till I can get rid of it. Any ideas? It has a 5.3 with 103,000 on it.
