Correct the trucks have different front ends. I have a 12k lb warn winch in my chassis unlimited bumper from baseline overland and have used it several times. It has really come in handy and saved my a$$ once when I was by myself. Rough country makes a hidden winch mount plate which some reviews...
Get em at baseline overland. You won't regret it... they are the best looking/functional high clearance front and rears out there IMO. I use this truck exclusively for off-roading and towing our overland camping trailer or utility trailer and can attest to the durability and functionality. Insta...
I suggest going with the Fox 2.0 setup if you want the best bang for your buck. They're going to be better than the Bilsteins and they're not super expensive. That paired with Dobinson's 2" lift rear springs (NO SPACERS required) and some Cognito uppers and you'll be in the money. I've done some...
I have not had any issues and I've had them on my rig for 4 years now. I have tested the suspension on many trails and whoops at high speed. With the lock nuts and some loctite you should not have any issues. I went out to check today and they are all still tight.
Hm that's strange. Those springs you have are factory replacement springs so if they're new I bet they settle a bit after a while. The stock springs on a z71 package Tahoe are more stout, can tow more payload without sagging, and are already a little taller about 1-1.5" more ride height than the...
Hi Dustin,
Thanks! I'm glad you were inspired to build out your ride! You should throw some progress pics up it'd be awesome to see what you've done. I love seeing other people's trucks it inspires me also. How much and what lift did you do in the rear? I have had no issues with centering of my...
Which Nittos did you have? Everyone I know that has had the ridge grapplers have had excellent tread life. They were recommended to me by a friend who manages a discount tire company and in my own research online the consensus was they run 40k miles easily if properly rotated. This played a huge...
Love the Nitto Ridge Grapplers. They're great on and off-road. I have plenty of sidewall when aired down. They are 10ply so they're very stout. I haven't ran them less than 15psi. It required extensive trimming of the inner fender well to fit the wheel/tire setup without rubbing even with the...
I have a 2009 z71. I previously owned a 2005 and I do consider the 2009 a substantial upgrade in both driveability and comfort. I recommend getting the 2009-14 as opposed to the 07/08 because they have the 6 speed transmission which is much better and more durable than the 4 speed in the 07/08...
I've got the Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto. It doesn't have built in navigation but I prefer Google maps anyway. Having it wireless and auto connect when you start the car is super convenient and I get immediate access to all of the apps I use for music. I prefer...
You can also do this with devices like the Hypertech tuner or DiabloSport inTune tuner. These allow you to make many other changes, and give you the ability to turn your programming back to stock if needed. Best thing I ever did is turn off the AFM.
It doesn't on mine although I don't have the auto leveling suspension of course. I'm not sure if it will on yours. What year and model do you have? My ride quality was improved greatly by switching out to the Fox shocks which also level out the suspension. The Z71's come with Rancho shocks too...
Thank you I like your build also. The King shocks look great. I looked into the Spohn rear suspension package it looks pretty nice i'm adding that to my list also!
Fox 2.0 front/rear leveling shock kit. 2" Daystar spacer rear. Cognito UCA's. Method MR309 wheels 20x9, offset +18, Backspace 5.75. Nitto Ridge Grapplers 295/55/r20. Required trimming of the front portion of the front fender wells.
Here are some pictures of the trimming of the front fender well I did. You can see the front lip of the bumper is actually just a cover. You have to remove it and cut the bumper which I did with a dremel tool if you want to delete those giving you better ground clearance, approach angle, and I...
Thank you! Here is my build sheet. I'm probably missing something but it's most of the stuff i've done since I created this build sheet:
Fox 2.0 Front/Rear leveling lift shock set
Daystar 2" rear spacers
Method Grid MR309 Wheels, 20x9, 6x5.5, offset: +18,
Backspace: 5.75 MR30929060518
Nitto...
These are not extremely heavy duty rock sliders. They do however have a tube that drops down a little below the chassis, and one that extends out wider than the body which offer protection against damage to both the bottom and side of the vehicle. They are not super heavy duty but they are very...
I run the Fox 2.0 setup with a small spacer in the rear. It's a great quick way to lift/level the truck and greatly increase ride quality. Also the front coilovers are adjustable so you can always maintain stock height if you like. They come preloaded at 2" (maximum) lift for the fronts.
Fox 2.0 coilover setup is not super expensive and is a very nice upgrade. Ride quality is excellent. I run the setup with a small spacer in the rear. The coilovers come preset for the maximum 2" lift/level.
