    2004 Tahoe fuel issues.

I swapped my pump in about 2 hours. That's minus the 3 hours to pump the tank out with the small pump I borrowed! I backed the rear onto some ramps and lowered just the backside of the tank. It was a little tight but I got it replaced. If I could have raised it about 6inches higher it would have...

I bet he won't do that again! I'm going to drive it around locally till Friday. If it last till then. I'll pump out what's left. Anybody use the Carquest pump for $240? Or should I go with the Delphi brand?

    2004 Tahoe fuel issues.

I can swap it out. I'm driving it now. Since it has set and cooled for a couple of hours, it is running better. It has 270,000 on it. I believe I got the best of it!

    2004 Tahoe fuel issues.

My wife's Tahoe has shutoff several times on her. I was driving it today when it happened. It acts like its out of fuel. The fuel pump relay was extremely hot. I swapped it with a similar one and got it cranked. 20 miles later same thing. This time it tried to idle around 100 rpm and sputtered...

    Battery drain & 1/4 tank-no start problem

Thanks, $200 seems like a good price. Does anybody know if you can just repair the cluster you have? or what part actually causes it to pull the battery down?

    Battery drain & 1/4 tank-no start problem

No, its all factory. Its been sitting since yesterday with the fuse out and the battery is fully charged. I found the problem, I just need to know what I need to replace. I've been reading some other threads and I'm thinking I may need a new instrument cluster. I have had an issue a few times...

    Battery drain & 1/4 tank-no start problem

I'm leaving the fuse out overnight to see if it will stay charged. As for the fuel tank, I will try and drop it next weekend. Anybody got any pointers on dropping the tank. Also is the sending unit repairable or do I need to plan on replacing it.

    Battery drain & 1/4 tank-no start problem

Thanks for the info. I'm going to start checking now. Do you happen to know what is an acceptable level on the security system or any other items that may still draw power? ---------- Post added at 03:01 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:18 PM ---------- I've think I found the source of...

    Battery drain & 1/4 tank-no start problem

My wife's 2004 Tahoe wont start when it has a 1/4 tank of fuel. It also has a mysterious battery drain. I installed a new battery, checked the alternator, not sure what to check next. As for the fuel issue, i'm having her keep the tank at least half full until I can get the battery issue fixed...

    Heater/AC problems

I've been having a problem with the temperature control sticking. Sometimes the driverside will be blowing cold air with the heat turned on and then the passenger side will blow heat with the AC turned on. The rear air doesn't get hot at all. Is there a door or something that could be sticking...

    2004 With Low Oil Pressure

Just picked up the tahoe from the dealership. The pickup tube had a crack in it. They put a new one in and the pressure is up to 40 at idle. The tech said everythingelse looked good. Best of all "No Charge!"

    2004 With Low Oil Pressure

Just got back from the dealer. They agreed to fix the low oil problem even though it was sold "as-is". Funny thing though, as I was pulling it up onto my trailer the oil pressure jumped from 0 to 30. I didn't let it run long enough to see if it would drop again. When I unloaded it the gauge...

    2004 With Low Oil Pressure

I just bought the truck last weekend. It looks like the oil was changed a few weeks ago. I was thinking it may be the sending unit to, until I heard the tap in the motor when the oil pressure gauge dropped. I'm calling the dealership tomorrow to see if they will fix it. They may not being it was...

    2004 With Low Oil Pressure

Thanks for the advice, I just checked it again this morning. The oil level on the stick is at the top of the crosshatch area or full. I found no leaks. It has a carquest filter on it. I cranked it , it had 20lbs oil pressure at idle. I let it warmup and raised the rpm to1500 and the pressure...

    2004 With Low Oil Pressure

Hi guys, I just bought a 2004 Tahoe, 5.7L, with 192,000 miles. The fluid and filters have been changed every 2-3 months since new. Everything was working fine until tonight. Got in and started it and the screen on the dash read LOW OIL PRESSURE. The gauge read about 10-15 at idle and dropped to...
