For the bulbs requiring festoon type led equivalents, I preferred to use 39mm instead of 42mm. The smaller length fit just fine and was much easier than the 42mm to get into the socket. I ordered some 39mm festoon bulbs, and found that pure white matched the rest of the domes perfectly.
