The lawsuit should have been for more $

The only one that was legit was the GMPP warranty prior to them going into bankruptcy. I had it on my 2010 Tahoe LTZ, and used it well beyond the original factory warranty. I would agree that these third party warranty outfits that spend megabucks scaring unwitting car owners are largely scams.

Buy a New 2024 Yukon or Tahoe or wait til 25s

One of my full sized GM SUV's had the power steps. (Escalade) Based on my personal experience, if you live in an area of the country that uses salt on their roads, the power steps over time will most likely be affected and seize. Mine were replaced under warranty, but my guess is that unless...

2023 XL Denali ticking noise (this is the replacement truck for the one that had 2 engines die)

These horror stories on $100k GM trucks are nauseating. Was a LONG time GM guy. Get a Lexus LX or Toyota Sequoia, change the oil, rotate the tires and do the longer term maintenance stuff, and you you can drive them until you find something new and shiny 10 years from now.

    Buyer Beware - Don't Buy a Yukon

Have owned many, many GM cars, and all of the GMT900 SUV platforms (Yukon, Tahoe, Escalade) as well as all of the GMT360 BOF variants (Trailblazer, GMC Envoy Denali, Buick Rainier, Saab 9X). All of these older generations were bulletproof. (Had a raft of bells/whistle related problems with the...

    Yukon water torture

Agree with B-train. The OP was simply stating his experience with his truck. Are forum members only permitted to post rainbow and unicorn stories about their experiences? As a former owner of multiple GMT 900 platform trucks, Yukon, Tahoe and Escalade, I too had fond memories of my 2010...

another warranty issue with the wife's '21

Not nice dude. This forum is a community to communicate and exchange experiences, and advice on solutions and handling problems, both in and out of warranty. When one spends $70-$90k on a vehicle, you’re entitled to expect a high quality product and service experience. The quality of these...

    2023 Tahoe RST

I had the exact problem with one of my previous Tahoes. The dealer owner is a friend of mine and he told his guys to Road force balance the tires. Issue solved. Each tire on your RST weighs about 40-42 pounds, plus the weight of the rim (at least another 20 pounds?). As good as the current...

Brake bleeding - need sanity check

Awesome! So you had a double whammy...bleeder on the bottom of a "new" and bad caliper with a stuck piston! I could see why you were second guessing your sanity! My guess is that these are "brand new" reman calipers. Wonder if the same company sells to both Autozone and CarQuest? In any...

    Should work fine. Same principle.

Brake bleeding - need sanity check

I'm all in with Just Fishing...I used to do amateur road racing and bled the brakes (by myself) on my Corvette every week that I was going to be at the track. (brake fluid is hyGROscopic: it attracts moisture and is deadly on the track. People say that they "boiled" their brake fluid...what...

Need suggestions - After the mess I have gone through over the past 9 months, what should I ask GMC to do? Vehicle repurchased, new vehicle in shop

I have a very bad feeling about the future of your vehicle, regardless of an extended warranty, and especially with a third party insurance plan. If I were faced with your problem, I would take a buyback in a New York minute. There are just way too many sad stories of members getting stuck...

A bolt hit my 2023 Tahoe hood - fixed!

I hear you on the lack of techno. The old school Toyotas are absolutely bulletproof. The bells and whistles on the latest domestics is mind numbing. A very good friend of mine wanted more techno and recently traded in his 2016 Sequoia for a new Tahoe High Country. Had the lifter problem...

Anyone Purchased Extended Warranty Plan ?

aboss3, Short answer: buy the extended warranty. I know I'll get torched for the balance of my response, but unfortunately there are just too many sad stories... Being a multiple decade bowtie owner including a prepared Corvette that I ran in amateur road racing, these new rigs are not the GM...

Would like opinions on front pads for '12 XL Denali, thinking about Hawk

A couple of comments and some insight on the pad compounds...I was in the steel business for 40+ years and one of the products we produced was "wool wire". It's used in various gauges (think abrasive ranges) for everything from polishing fine hardwood furniture "0000" aka four ought wool, to...

2022 Tahoe with check engine constantly and other problems..

1,000% on the lemon law. Breaks my heart. I used to be a fanboy. Can't remember how many GM cars and SUV's I had. I moved over to the "dark" and quality side. I went Toyota. [Lexus].

    2021 Tahoe Braking performance?

$1300 all in is a great price for an OE plug n play set up. He will notice a huge difference in braking performance, especially under heavy loads. Has anyone checked the master cylinder part number for the PPV 6 pot set up to see if it's the same as the stock Tahoe unit? Even if it's not, I...

    2021 Tahoe Braking performance?

Taking everything at face value, if you can get 6 pot fronts, bigger rotors, at those GM retail numbers, you can probably get the PPV parts via one of the online GM discount dealers for much less. And like a buddy of mine once said, "it's like a sore d*ck, you can't beat it!"

    2021 Tahoe Braking performance?

Admittedly, 911's have evolved dramatically over the years, and Porsche has continued to refine their typical Macpherson strut front suspension to now double wishbone on the latest GT3. (At what price? $165k+ or something?) The 911 weight distribution hasn't really changed much over the...

    Nitrogen filled tires

Exactly. I used to do a lot of track events back in the day. It's like any other sport...if you get proficient enough at it, very minor adjustments can make a "big" difference in performance. Running on a road course at 10/10th with race tires, one can really feel the difference of a couple of...

    2021 Tahoe Braking performance?

We can debate this all night... The C8 rear wheels are an inch larger than the fronts. The rear rotors on the Z51 C8 are indeed .440" larger in diameter, but are about .125" (or an 1/8") thinner than the fronts. That gives them a better mechanical advantage than the "smaller" diameter...

    2021 Tahoe Braking performance?

The real reason is because it's not a widely needed system in the rear. The F/R brake balance is controlled by a proportioning valve. If you have too much rear brake, your vehicle will swap ends. If you're hauling a trailer (and I admittedly have limited experience, only from hauling my race...

    Reconsidering my order

You shouldn't have to beg a car dealer to take your money and give you a solid answer on the status of your pending purchase. Cash is king...go get what you want from a dealer who truly wants your business. I would suggest you consider to go drive an LX and let us know what you think...
