    500 miles, = 1 qt oil

    500 miles, = 1 qt oil

I have been using Pennzoil ultra syn natural gas 5w-30 for ever. Might be time to move away, but seeming this is such a common problem... I can't really blame the oil. I did order the VRP from amazon. definitely worth a try before the top engine cleaner job.

    Which Motor Mounts

I got 80,000 from my OEM mounts. and I'll get 80,000 vibration free miles from the OEM oil filled replacements. Why anyone goes for solid mounts because they are worrying about 80,000 miles down the road.. :bs::doublepuke: ok. I won't have my truck at 80,000 miles down the road, it'll...

    500 miles, = 1 qt oil

2014 figured this wasn't a problem. But apparently I have stuck oil rings. Every week, qt of oil. Blows smoke out the exhaust at 4000 RPM's. How difficult is the top end cleaner job on the passenger side, 2 rear plugs. The others look easy. 120,000 miles...

2012 Yukon xl 4x4 eating antifreeze?

This forum is funny. The GM plastic radiator goes for 10 years, and the forum calls it junk, get metal. The hydraulic motor mounts go for 80,000 miles, and the forum calls it junk, go for solid mounts. OK, let's defeat 10 zillion dollars of GM engineering.

Oil Level -- can't get good reading

Mighty Mouse sells a "hybrid can" setup with a breather. This is getting too complex. It's a closed system, why would I need a breather ?

Oil Level -- can't get good reading

I'm reading that TSB. I have a 2013, so I should have the good valve covers. The piston ring replacement, nah. I'll keep buying oil.

Oil Level -- can't get good reading

Here's the answer: Truck must sit overnight to get an accurate reading. Otherwise, the dipstick tube is loaded with oil, preventing an accurate reading. The dip tube is pretty much to the top with oil. Why, because of blow by. Oil is blowing up the tube from blow by, or bad PCV...

    Oil filter for the 5.3

Fram Ultra XG10575 *was* the best. Now it's Fram Endurance FE10575 which is 1" longer. and it fits no problem. Plenty of protection from the pan & cross member. Very reasonable price. Walmart on line has them. I won't use anything but Fram these days.

Oil Level -- can't get good reading

Sometimes, I can't get an accurate oil level reading. Either it's all the way up the dip stick, 1/2 way up the dip stick. I wipe it off, and same problem. and I know I had 6 qts in there perfectly a month ago when I changed the oil. 2013 Burb 120,000 miles. What causes this ?
