Thanks for all the replies. Part of the expense is my fault. They used all MOOG parts including the whole control arm. The MOOG control arms run about $300 online. I could have told him to use lesser brand stuff but I was not paying attention.
I just had the front end of my 03 Tahoe pretty much rebuilt. The bill was quite a bit higher then I was expecting. I am hoping you all can say fair or that price is way out of the ball park.
I had the below replaced...
Idler Arm
Pitman Arm
Both inner tie rods
Both outter tie rods
All 4 ball...
Well I went to have the tie rods on my 03 Tahoe replaced and the bill is now up to $1,600. (tie rods, idler and pitman arm and new ball joints and control arm bushings)
While I am not thrilled about having a car payment I would like to get into something a little newer with less issues. I...
i have attached a video to show what I am taking about. The back heat works fine but I can not turn the front heat up it just keeps bouncing around from 60 to 62 to 65 back to 61 etc. has anyone else experienced this issue? PS keep volume low my son had an outburst in the middle
The jounce bumpers look to be in good shape. With that being said they have 110k miles one them. I will check to see how soft they are tomorrow. Don't realize those played a big roll in the suspension on these vehicles
The part numbers are:
Front- 24-186643
Rear- 24-187327
The Tahoe is stock height with the exception of raising the front a little over and inch with the stock keys.
I installed a set of 5100's on my 2003 Tahoe Z71. The Tahoe is now very bouncy. If I step on the brakes hard at 3-5 mph the front end will bounce up and down for a couple seconds. I thought that since I was stock height the shocks might be compressed too much so I cranked the torsion bars to...
I installed 2 Bilstein 5100 shocks on the front of my 2003 Tahoe z71 yesterday. Everything when smooth except the shock boot looks very very crammed
The part number for the new shock is 24-186643 which looks like it is the correct shock. Any guidance is appreciated.
The rear heat is not working in my Tahoe so I figured it was the door blend actuator. I pulled the actuator today and looked up the part number. The part number pulls up for the actuator that is supposed to be under the dash. I am wondering of the previous owner tried to replace it prior to...
I got the $30 kit and I have issues with my drivers side not turning on 1 every 5 times I turn them on. I mean if I shut it off and turn it right back on it will come on but it is annoying. Maybe some other members will chime in with the kits they have.
Did this to my 03 when I did it several months ago. I also developed piston slap after it. These issues seem to be pretty common. With that being said I don't think I will be using it again.
As stated above it is most likely the intake manifold gasket. I just replaced mine a few weeks ago and it solved the problem you are speaking of. It is a pretty straight forward job but the fuel lines are a B****
It is a real easy fix. You would have to do something horribly wrong to crack the steering column. I just did mine a couple weeks ago. I didn't bother buying the new wire/gear selector. I just spliced some new wire in there. Good a new!
Just thought I would share this with y'all. Got my exhaust done today and I am super happy with the sound. I wanted something mellow but aggressive when you get on it. Even when I get on it I can still have a normal tone convo on the inside. I decided to go with the 18" Magnaflow muffler. It is...
