    Speedometer/odometer inop. ABS light

    I figured Id catch flak for dating the truck 25 years.. lol. Maybe not 'eliminate' the pcm. Just eliminate the things that are no longer required. I suppose it HAS to stay so the NP246 will function properly with all the vss signals. Thats not to say an NP241 swap isnt out of the question...

    Speedometer/odometer inop. ABS light

    I did engine and trans. Carbureted 350 and 700r4. My goal is to eliminate the pcm all together. I'm sure that could sound blasphemous.. If I knew the lead sensor that maintains the speed, I could swap it and diagnose more. But with the 2 on the tailhousing of the xfer case, I'm confused...

    Speedometer/odometer inop. ABS light

    I've trudged through the google gauntlet from VSS diagrams to Xfer case swaps to find out why my speedo and ABS light are inop. Now, I've swapped to a 700r4 from a 4l60e. I believe that the swap is unrelated given that the VSS connectors are on the NP246 Tcase. I could very well be wrong...

    PEGGED fuel gauge

    At this point, I've found a fuel cell on Summit with a 0-90 ohm sender installed, as well as an external pump. After I filled the tank yesterday for the first time in months, it leaks.. so for 280 bucks I get new tank, new pump, and compatible sending unit with factory gauge.. just need to...

    PEGGED fuel gauge

    So my options are... New gauges altogether, Or new fuel sending unit from 96-97? Then bypass the PCM direct to the gauge? I've also lost my speedometer and odometer switching from 4l60e to 700r4. Potential for new (96-97) cluster and utilize a mechanical speedo to the new trans?

    PEGGED fuel gauge

    So, that explains the harness running through the PCM? I imagine it drops the resistance as it passes through it on its way to the gauge?

    PEGGED fuel gauge

    I know, another fuel gauge thread, but I need more clarification on how I can fix a pegged gauge issue. From what I understand, the harness from the sending unit runs through the ECU? Given the link >>>http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=73661 I recently performed an...

    99 Tahoe CARBURETED engine/trans swap

    Hello! Although I'm not active on here, I figure its a good place to showcase what's been my last week! So, the 213k miles on the 5.7 Vortec and 4L60E had taken its toll and I bit the bullet and decided to give it a new heart. The engine is a std 350 with a .030 bore. Stock heads with...

    Trans/Xfer case compatability

    Been a while since my last post, but this question finds me in an Engine Swap status! Im putting a new fresh mild 350 in my 99 Hoe. My goal is to eliminate the ECU side of the house, ie: going carbureted. Now, I understand that the engine swap eliminated the ECU, meaning I'll need a...

    Driveline grind/bucking->Shelled Transfer Case

    I wish I could offer a better explanation, but I'm just passing along what I'm hearing from back home. As for "special", my father in law told me that the replacement transfer case tail section was too long, requiring the rear driveshaft to be cut to fit. The replacement t-case was removed out...

    Yukon wo't start, fuel pump not clicking

    2 ways to test a relay: 1: With a 2nd person, have them turn the key to the "ON" position, while you are under the hood with your finger on the Fuel Pump relay. If you can feel a small tick, click, bump, etc, its working correctly. If you feel no click, see option 2. If you feel a...

    Driveline grind/bucking->Shelled Transfer Case

    http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=57115 The above thread was my first try.. Now here's what happened. Last week, while driving at appx 55 MPH, my wife heard a big bang, immediately followed by an engine stall, and rear tire lockup. When my father in law got to the...

    Driveline grind/bucking

    Referring to the switch in the cab, correct? I have noticed in the past that sometimes the backlight for the 2HI indication would illuminate intermittently. Usually, a knock to the switch would fix it for a bit. Otherwise, the "AUTO" and 4WD options would shine bright and consistant. Thanks...

    Driveline grind/bucking

    An issue with my driveline is leaving me scratching my head, and looking for advice. Upon rare occasion, while backing down the driveway, I've experienced the tranny to seem like it comes out of gear, followed by a LOUD grinding noise under my feet. Upon a gear change, grinding goes away...

    Transmission Acting Weird

    Similar issue when backing. I get a grinding sound. Almost like a standard tranny, and grinding a gear. Also have a bucking feeling at speeds between 55-65. As well as the grinding very seldom at speed as well. Maybe xfer case engaging when it shouldnt? -Justin

    I like the cats. A performance advantage and church up the exhaust some. 2 questions though.. the above part shows 3 o2 sensors.. is this correct for my vehicle? And does MF provide the sensors with the cats? If not, whats a good source for sensors to swap at the same time?

    Hello! Brand new to the forum and just as new to the 5.7 Vortec. I want to gain some general information to help me make a decision regarding a tune and future performance mods. Currently 206k miles on my hoe, and recently scanned and showed a P0420 and P0430 codes for catalyst issues...
