For re-installing the module I cut a wrench in half to be able to get the brake lines on easier. Needed a full wrench to loosen line but a half wrench would have made getting them off easier too.
Just something you might want to consider.
Recently upgraded from a 2000 Yukon XL to a 2013 Yukon XL
My wife was use to the chrome bumpers on the old truck and not too worried about bumping into things.
Over the weekend she pulled a little to far into a pile of snow and ice and cracked the front bumper.
The crack is about 6" long and...
Repaired the module and got it back on, much easier to install with new allan head screws.
Bled each wheel once. Luckily I was able to get all bleed screws open. Ended up replacing 2 of them because they were in such bad shape. Took the truck for a quick drive with spongy brakes. Bled...
Ended up having to pull hole unit out. Getting brake lines off was a pain. Had to use mini torch to get two bottom lines off. After getting unit off discovered last screw was stripped.
Thanks for the link to the video, going to try and repair module myself.
Does any one know if you have...
I have had the ABS warning light on for awhile.
Recently changed out both from hubs so it is leaning towards ABS module.
Looks like it is a common problem. Plan on removing the module and sending it out to get rebuilt.
On my truck the ABS module and pump assembly is located under the...
I have seen a couple threads about loose mirrors but I am having a differnt probelm. The mirror is mounted the door fine and the glass is mounted fine. The assembly that folds in is loose as hell.
I pulled the light on the bottom of the mirror off to see if I could get to a bolt of...
Have had a problem for a while where the ABS and brake ligts on the dash will come on and stay on until you shut off the truck.
No real pattern to when they come on, sometimes it is with in the first mile or two and sometimes it is after 15 minutes or longer. For a while I swore it was when I...
Got the axles out after some research and playing with it a little.
Did find out the rollers and springs on the one side is part of the mechanical posi trac.
Couldn't find anything on line different about axel removal with the posi trac, so I wnet back to the standard instructions.
Basically...
The brakes on my 2001 Yukon XL are the same way. I have replaced pads and rotors a couple times over the life of the truck and it has allways been the same (never upgraded though). I think it is just the way the standard brakes are. Never had a problem stopping though, just takes some getting...
Rear is going on my 2001 yukon XL 3/4 ton, so I am going to swap it out for used one with lower miles.
Instead of disconecting all the break lines I pulled all the brakes and everything and hung them. My plan is to pull the axels out, disconect the four bolts that connect the axel to the brake...
