    P0016 Code and Limping Home

I was driving down the freeway yesterday with cruise set at 70 mph. The engine suddenly got loud and started to loose power. No CEL at the time, but I pulled off the freeway just to figure out what happened. I was able to drive the vehicle home at 55 on the freeway. Now having a hard time...

Transmission Rear Case Extension #24208015 vs #24241496

Couple years ago I purchased a transmission rear case extension housing. Since then I have had a constant vibration, which makes me question what I originally installed. At that time, I bought the extension housing from Amazon. I recently looked at the housing on the vehicle and it has GM part...

Wet Concrete From Transmission Extension Housing

Again, I am sorry my presence on this thread has gotten your patience out of whack. Feel free to ignore my future posts on this forum. So people come here when they have questions about problems that others may have already dealt with. Were not perfect and maybe don't anticipate including...

Wet Concrete From Transmission Extension Housing

Sorry about not including the drive shaft info earlier. Planning on finding a level surface so I can check the trans fluid level.

Wet Concrete From Transmission Extension Housing

Forgot to mention, I had the original driveshaft balanced early on while trying to diagnose the vibration. No change. Same vibration. Went so far to order a new driveshaft with yoke and u-joints all put together, which is what is on there now, and again no change. I am pretty sure it is not the...

Wet Concrete From Transmission Extension Housing

Looks like it is a GM extension housing. Hopefully that partial number stamped on there isn't the actual part number as it looks like it ends in 3015.

Wet Concrete From Transmission Extension Housing

As a side note, I do remember having the drive side mount replaced a couple years ago. It was obvious when putting in gear with one foot on brake and the other giving it gas the drive side of motor would go up and down. Really don't think I ever had the passenger side replace. So I assume it's...

Wet Concrete From Transmission Extension Housing

Pretty sure it was ACDelco. Pretty sure it was an ACDelco. I will see if I can get a pic of the number on it. Also ran my VIN through the ac delco parts catalog and came up with the same part. Auto Trans Extension Housing Part Number: 24241496 Product Notes: Auto Trans Extension Housing...

Wet Concrete From Transmission Extension Housing

I am guessing replacing the output shaft seal is quite a task and likely pretty expensive to get it done by a mechanic?

Wet Concrete From Transmission Extension Housing

This is the one from RockAuto that I have based on 2008 GMC Yukon SLT 2WD 5.3Flex. https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=1217243&cc=1441039&jsn=2321

Wet Concrete From Transmission Extension Housing

Is that the part number for the transmission extension housing or the seal? The trans extension housing I purchased came with the seal already so maybe I have the wrong trans extension housing? Anyway to determine the trans extension housing is correct other than with the dealer?

Wet Concrete From Transmission Extension Housing

Sorry for the lack of details on the color. It's definitely trans fluid based on color.

Wet Concrete From Transmission Extension Housing

About the same time two years ago, I had one of the mounts was replace. Damn, I can't recall which side, but I do remember the way for checking it, putting it in gear, foot on the brake, hit the gas, and one side of the engine clearly comes up a few inches. At any rate, it was just one side that...

Wet Concrete From Transmission Extension Housing

As part of my 2 year long diagnosis, I bought a brand new driveshaft, which had no affect on the vibration. The other two items are slip yoke and transmission extension housing.

Wet Concrete From Transmission Extension Housing

Before replacing the slip yoke and transmission extension housing, I was dealing with the "GM Clink". Replacing those fixed that problem, but may have introduced this problem in addition to the continual slight vibration I have had since then.

Wet Concrete From Transmission Extension Housing

My RWD 2008 Yukon has been sitting in the driveway for a couple weeks now because of the work at home thing. I haven't used it at all in that time and yesterday I noticed a big wet area under the vehicle. The driveway has a slight incline so the front end of is slightly raised while parked...

Smooth on Blacktop but Vibration on Concrete

I have been on 2 sets of tires since I noticed the vibration so I wouldn’t put money on that. It’s such a mystery.

Smooth on Blacktop but Vibration on Concrete

This problem has been going on for a few years. Since then, I have tried many things (driveshaft, u-joints, tires, shocks) to try and remedy the problem all to no avail. Let me check the paperwork to see if they recorded the specs on the alignment.

Smooth on Blacktop but Vibration on Concrete

Had an alignment done when new tires were installed. I have felt this behavior for a while. Need to inspect the front end further. Would awesome to have video pointing at suspension while rolling down the highway to see if anything looks out of sorts.

Smooth on Blacktop but Vibration on Concrete

Just spitballing looking for things to look at that may enhance vibrations on concrete and yet pretty smooth on blacktop. I understand roads are all different, but the vibration I feel does not match any inconsistencies in the road. Tires are almost new with good balance. New driveshaft...

Rear End Hopping after Replacing Slip Yoke / U-Joint

Well put the drive shaft in and still feel a vibration from the rear. So new tires and driveshaft did not give me a smooth ride. Have no idea what else I can look at in the rear of the vehicle.
