    Adjust ODO for new tires?

A couple of things - first, you can't "hand calculate" mileage properly unless the computer knows the right tire size. Doing it by GPS ain't gonna work because GPS is not nearly accurate enough. Furthermore - everyone is talking about tire size but no one is considering what is almost...

    Diagnosing erratic/high oil pressure...

I agree...that second sensor effectively cost me over $600.

GM OEM. Same exact thing that I took out. Got them from two different dealers.

    Diagnosing erratic/high oil pressure...

Well it appears that it was a bad replacement sensor after all. After watching the above video I figured it might be possible that the +5v wire was shorting to the signal wire intermittently, cause that would cause the gauge to jump around and sometimes peg at 80...though it was tough to...

    Diagnosing erratic/high oil pressure...

Two issues with the idea of it being a gauge issue - first, the computer logged PO521 and PO523 which are both pressure sensor reading out of range codes (this is what spurred me to originally try replacing the pressure sensor) and second, both the dealer and the independent mechanic commented...

    Diagnosing erratic/high oil pressure...

Yeah I thought of that too, because the issue doesn't seem to happen when the truck is sitting, idling, on level ground. So i put it in the garage, let it run with the hood up, and made sure the gauge was stable, then had my son watch it while I poked and prodded the sensor harness and the...

    Diagnosing erratic/high oil pressure...

I got a third (second professional) opinion yesterday and it matches mine. A professional was able to get his mechanical gauge on the truck and verified my results. Oil pressure is rock solid, so there's no REAL problem here. It's only the gauge. Next i'm going to try another sender, but...

    Diagnosing erratic/high oil pressure...

Ok finally some progress. I put the test gauge setup on it again, and this time I routed the gauge up through the fenderwell (around the frame rail) and out under the back edge of the hood so i could see the gauge while driving. Then I went out for a nice long cruise until it got warmed up and...

    Diagnosing erratic/high oil pressure...

No luck. Behavior continues, even with new oil filter. I have driven the same test loop now so many times that I have noticed a few things, which I confirmed on my last loop. The behavior is noticeably worse while going downhill or braking, and during left turns. I can peg the pressure gauge...

    Diagnosing erratic/high oil pressure...

Ok got a mechanical gauge on it, and the mystery only deepens. Background info - The mechanical gauge setup I used uses a pass-through block that screws on in place of the oil filter, and has a port for a mechanical gauge fitting. So during testing, the oil filter was not installed...

    Diagnosing erratic/high oil pressure...

I spoke to the tech and writer again today, in person, to get a complete rundown of exactly what they did so I have it documented. They were unable to verify the gauge reading while driving the vehicle because they couldn't get a tee on without removing the intake. They were able to verify...

    Diagnosing erratic/high oil pressure...

Does it only operate along with AFM or does it work on it's own? I had AFM tuned out a couple years ago so while all the components are still there, they aren't activating.

    Diagnosing erratic/high oil pressure...

They didn't call out the o-ring individually, they said "there are several possibilities when it comes to the oil pump, but the pressure relief is the problem here". They also mentioned that there's a second pressure relief for the AFM system in there that they would also change out because...

    Diagnosing erratic/high oil pressure...

Working with my dealer and I think we are headed in the right direction here but before I spend a big chunk of money i'd like to engage some more experts. This problem is a little different than most that i've read about. I've had a check engine light come on and then go off before I could get...

    OEM Leather Seatcovers?

No I just happen to be well versed in leather products with decades of experience. Katzkin will outlast factory leather, no question. Secondly, as I noted, the factory FCA leather is a joke, but GM's stuff is barely better...even in Cadillacs.

    OEM Leather Seatcovers?

So am I - thing is that fitment is only one part of the equation. You can have covers made from heavy gauge garbage bags that fit 100% as well as stock - but they would still be terrible. You can't focus only on fitment and ignore the fact that the good aftermarket covers are MUCH higher...

    OEM Leather Seatcovers?

Yeah that's not true...I have CFI leather in my Tahoe and it is far better quality than the OEM leather. For starters, the OEM covers include far less actual leather...but the standard CFI leather covers (they offer an upgraded leather they call "ecstasy leather") are comparable in quality to...

2018 Tahoe captain chairs to bench swap

No. The 3rd row bench isn't the right size, and doesn't even have the right type of base to mount in the second row position. You would need a second row bench, which is actually pretty easy to find between ebay and salvage sources.

    OEM Leather Seatcovers?

It's going to be tough to find that color combo, it's really rare. Here's the stock that GM has: https://www.cultragfactoryparts.com/search?search_str=seat%2Bcover&page=1&year=&make=&model=&catalog_type=parts But I didn't see a single cover in that color combo in there. Seems like they've...

Seat cushion- OEM, Durafoam or eBay special?

There are several different ways... https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=steaming+seat+cushions I just use a commercial steamer that I bought on ebay (cost me $35).

Seat cushion- OEM, Durafoam or eBay special?

If you've got enough to cover the entire cushion, then yes. Or if you have the accuracy to be able to target the problem spots, then you might be able to make that work too.
  23. T

Seat cushion- OEM, Durafoam or eBay special?

Easiest approach by far - steaming "resets" the cushions. They will compress again just like any other new cushion will, but at least you won't have spent $100+ per cushion for new replacements. Granted, steaming doesn't fix tears or holes.

    2007-2014 Tahoe Picture Thread

On the back (that you can barely see in the pic)? The stock Z71 mud flaps...at least I assume they're stock. They were on it the day I bought it. In fact, I was going to say you can have them for the cost of shipping, cause I have since removed them, but I found that you can get them for $38...

    Replacing seat leather need advise

I dunno if it was me he or you are referring to...but I did exactly that and I can verify it does indeed work. I have pics in my thread to prove it. I did that three years ago and my cushions are still in great shape (meaning about what a three year old cushion would be like). it's not some...
