Fixed it! Ended up being the alternator. Had it running one morning warming up and happened to look out and see the tail light going dim and bright. Looked at the volt gage and the needle was jumping. hooked the tester up and showed a bad alt. Put a new one on an no issues since. With this the...- magnum440

Guess what?! It's an intermittent problem. When I got home an checkedthe draw, there was none. Gotta love it. Left the battery hooked up. See what it does in the morning!- magnum440

Put the cable on this morning and started just fine. Drove it to work and left the cable on. Went out just now and dead. Got the battery chargining. Not completly dead, just not enough to turn it over. I will mess with when I get to the house. I hate only having one vehicle. I live in eastern NC...- magnum440

Going to have to wait til tomorrow. Raining. I'll try that. Looking at the diagram, that and the alt and starter wire is it. Just left the neg cable off. Seems to be an issue when it sits.- magnum440

I have been having starting issues. (See other recent post) I had the battery, alternator and starter checked. I put my multi meter between the ground lug and ground lead and have a 3.1 amp draw. Not wanting to start
I took the battery cables off this morning. The positive was a little loose. Thought I had found something. I put new bolts and cleaned the connectors on the cables and battery. Not wanting to start
My '97 Tahoe is having a starting issue. It is acting like a dead battery. It first happened last night at thegas station, i had to have it jumped.
