Seems this was a fluke and those engines have a generally good expected lifespan. The mechanic who is doing my work has one in a truck he drives that has 400K+ miles on it.- TNRacedoc

I went with a low-mileage "recycled" engine as opposed to a remanufactured one. Picked an extended warranty for a few more bucks. It's still being installed. Total estimate is <$4K. I bought the bulbs at AutoZone (Sylvania/Zevo) but I didn't see anything on them regarding Can-Bus, so I imagine they are not. I've asked around and have gotten different solutions. The most common was the need for resistors...but I'm going to try to track down Can-Bus bulbs first before... -

***UPDATE Thanks David. As an update...as mentioned above, we pulled the vehicle immediately away from the dealership based on their price quote. Seemed suspicious, so took it to the "family mechanic". He spent some time with it, confirmed the blown motor and quoted a much lower price...but...- TNRacedoc

I just switched all the tail lights to LED (brake, flasher, reverse) All is well except the flashers...fast-flashing. I bought a new LED flasher module, but can't find the original to replace it. Every other GM or Jeep I've had was just under the steering wheel/dash...but I have yet to locate... -

Finally had a "free" weekend, and lots of stuff on tap for my '07 XL Denali pulled the driver side door panel and changed both the interior and exterior door handles had pulled the console door, bought a replacement leather cover, had it applied by a pro and I reinstalled it driver-side... -

Perfect...thanks! I know swapping signals often requires an alteration since the sensors notice the low-power pull. Great to know I can just swap bulbs. Anybody got a list of bulbs? (fearing I may miss one or more in the wholesale swap attempt) -

O7 Denali passenger grab handle bolt stripped
One of my teenagers was evidently a bit aggressive in using the passenger grab handle to exit the vehicle. The upper bolt is stripped out. Any recommendations on how to remedy this without disassembling the A pillar? -

As a follow-up... The old clips snapped out with a little effort and snapped into the new one easier. The bigger issue was the fit of the new cover. The contour doesn't match the vehicle bumper and requires some "wedging" to get the tabs to get in. Even then, it bows out on the corners and... -
