Okay new sensor installed. Now reading like "normal" 40psi.... I didn't like the feel of trying to torque to 22 lb-ft so I stopped without a click. I'll check back later re. oil leaking out.
Happened to me again after 3? years. I don't recall if I used OEM.
Yesterday I picked up a new sender at the dealer - $112.
Turning on the key and not starting makes too much sense - I'll do that this morning.
As mentioned it is not an easy replacement - but doable and yes you will need to...
I don't think RTV is needed if the gasket/o-ring thing is properly fitted around the thermostat and placed in the housing. RTV has a way of eventually going to places where you don't want it. I recently replaced my thermostat and no leaks and no RTV.
Related to the brake fluid change they actually listed CLEAN fluid from calipers and backing plates. Yes, sometimes a few drips can happen... but too actually confess to it??? I can't look at that bill - too upsetting.
Think of the difficulty of confirming/testing two-way functionality (outside of the official OBD II 10 functions) across years and models. I read somewhere that the programmers can get the specifics needed using the right-to-repair law. I'm trying to return my Kingbolen and go back to the...
okay... I've done some testing of the KB K7 and I'm sort of not liking it too much. The software is too flakey. For one - when it was reading the VIN the dash display beeped and showed "Stability Sys. Disabled". Didn't give me a feeling. Easy enough to fix by cycling the key but still...
The people at Kingbolen were able to "register" my K7 by doing something on their side. No explanation re. why I was not able to do it. At least they responded and got the issue resolved. Last night I played around with it looking for two-way functions.
I'm getting a feeling these "scanner" companies don't have good software release testing processes. It seems recently there are so many models from one company it is impossible to determine which model best covers your vehicle. IMHO it is all in the software... just what screen size do you...
The Kingbolen K7 showed up. For unknown reasons I haven't been able to get through the registration process and get a connection to the car. The support people are responding. Standby.
So far the new sensor is working but I'm still not sure it is reporting the correct pressure or the actual pressure is flakey because e.g. the famous O ring is leaking. At this point the pressure is around 40 or more so I'll continue to watch it. Good point about the ground strap. I'll check...
"Just the P0157". I Googled "P0157 Chevy" This is what comes back.
P0157 stands for “Oxygen Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 2, Sensor 2).” This code is triggered when the powertrain control module (PCM) detects a problem with the downstream oxygen sensor. A damaged oxygen sensor, exhaust...
I just ordered a Kingbolen K7 after watching too many YouTube videos. We'll see what it can do with my 2006 5.3 non-flex. I want to see if there are more PIDS that can be graphed compared to the usual. Also I'll confirm what two-way functions/tests are available. I can report here or some...
You will need to clear the DTCs after the switch and then probably drive a bit to make sure the system is in the closed loop and wait for the money light to come on.
That code p1133 indicates there are not enough switching cycles over time. Assuming you have a good scanner. If you graph the two upstream sensors together you should be able to see that the signals are not at the same frequency. The new sensor could be bad - it happens.
Thanks for the report. Every bit of info. helps others diagnose issues. My current thinking regarding my trims is that the injectors need cleaning. My Tahoe is not flex fuel so I shouldn't have issues associated with that. I want to buy another scanner, my Foxwell failed, they gave me my...
