Need help with identifying a part on the back of cylinder heads.

I am finally putting my 6.2 back together. I seemed to have lost two plugs(not sure how to describe). They are on the back of both cylinder heads like a coolant crossover but it doesnt cross over. I have a picture with the two parts circled. This picture is not from a 6.2 but its the parts I...

    2014 Yukon 6.2L lifter noise

Thanks for the response. My failed lifter was on #4, are you saying replace the lifters on 2,4,6,8 or just 2 & 4 that share the same tray? Thanks for advising me on the VLOM as well. My heads are being machined as well so I can have that smooth mating surface. and valves lapped Any concerns...

    2014 Yukon 6.2L lifter noise

So, after I started this rebuild journey, I have experienced several personal setbacks which are forcing me to not proceed with my original plans. I now have to approach this project with the minimalistic rebuild approach. So, I ask if anyone has successfully just replaced the bad collapsed...

    2014 Yukon 6.2L lifter noise

Comparison photo. 15 look like the bottom lifter and then the 1 discolored lifter. Just not looking to have an issue after getting the engine put back together. I’ve seen a couple of builds go wrong from bad replacement parts. Also, I reached out and a replacement lifter is on its way.

    2014 Yukon 6.2L lifter noise

I been gathering my parts for the rebuild. Picked up some lifters and 1 of the 16 looks odd. I am returning but wanted to get an opinion from this group. Would you use this lifter?

I did all oil changes at dealer until out of warranty. Then only used mobile 1 full synthetic.

    2014 Yukon 6.2L lifter noise

The stock intake manifold is great on this truck., no need to replace. I was referring to getting colder air to it. Lower air temps will help get a lower rpm torque gain. I checked on grabbing a used motor and going that route but the place I found was 5200 and no clue to history. I would...

    2014 Yukon 6.2L lifter noise

Perfect feedback, thank you. I am hoping that combining the DOD delete with a proper torque converter, adding better air intake to the stock intake manifold, and adding long tube headers, I will get somewhere near where I want to be with the truck.

    2014 Yukon 6.2L lifter noise

it is def a L94. I plan on keeping the Yukon for as long as possible. Especially now that I got a new vehicle for the wife and kids, so they can stay out of it. I am just looking to get more towing power out of the upgrade/rebuild. Not looking for a hot rod. Just upgrades that will make me...

    2014 Yukon 6.2L lifter noise

Okay, thanks for confirming my thoughts. I had a 2005 pathfinder that I had to do some top and front end engine work on when replacing the timing chain tensioners so I feel I can complete this job. I have gotten a replacement vehicle for the family so I don't feel rushed with he job. Time to...

    2014 Yukon 6.2L lifter noise

I was finally able to get a video sound clip what my engine with the ticking noise. I have a 2014 Yukon XL Denali with the 6.2. It has about 115k on the Yukon. It doesn't get driven but maybe once or twice a week. Normal oil change intervals with the oil life reminder helping out.

2013 Tahoe LS top end noise

Evening, not wanting to hijack the OP thread but this was the first post with exactly my issue. The video sound clip is exactly what my engine is doing. However, I have a 2014 Yukon Denali with the 6.2. Clicking/ticking noise just started when I went to leave and I immediately pulled back in...

    Odd noise from front end

Okay, so I jacked the front up and checked the driver side wheel first. No play at all. Checked the passenger side, has some play- not much. And I can hear the sound by just free hand spinning it fast. So, I’m replacing both for good measure. I feel like it’s best just to do both sides anyway. I...

    Odd noise from front end

So, would it be fine to only replace one side at at time? I was thinking I needed to do both at same time. Also, for anyone that has done it. What brand would be the best choice. OEM/Ac Delco, Moog, or Detroit Locker?

    Odd noise from front end

Yes, I did forget that detail. When I turn left, it stops till I’m back out of the turn. Straight and right turn has noise and vibration. Thank you for this info. I haven’t had a truck that had a bad wheel bearing so experienced this, yet. I will jack up and check for sure. What is the test...

    Odd noise from front end

2014 Yukon xl denial 2wd just past 85k miles. I have noticed a sound coming from front of truck. It cause some vibration inside. It sounds like a rubbing tire or that I have mud tread tires. I have been under and can not find anything rubbing. I did replace all 4 tires thinking at first it was...

2013 Tahoe USB port fails to recognize one iPhone7 but recognizes another iPhone7

Her iTunes library is why I can’t switch from apple products. But it is possible that she hasn’t synced with the new phone bc she has been using Spotify lately. Thanks for further clarifying the above post. It just wasn’t clicking for me.

2013 Tahoe USB port fails to recognize one iPhone7 but recognizes another iPhone7

Hopeful for a solution. What if you aren’t trying to play from iTunes, but say Spotify? I have a 2014 Denali that has recognized my 6s+ since we bought it. Just upgraded to XR and I get the media not recognized message. I can switch to my wife’s XR and it recognized it and played Spotify...
