So far I cleaned the MAF replaced the air filter and replaced the up stream O2 sensor. I just did a hunting trip this past week so after my return I filled the tank and will do some driving this week to see if that helped..
I got a 4x4 mule deer on my hunt...
Thank you, I have never replaced those sensors I did clean and oil the air filter not to long ago. I cleaned the MAF when I did the filter I guess I will clean it again. I always say go back to the last thing you touched... That would be the air filter...
With stock tires I would agree that gearing works fine. I am hoping your comparison of your 5.3 is with 35 tires other wise there is no point to your question. My rig is not a street queen and gets some pretty hard off road use and gearing makes a big difference.
But, to answer your question...
Well I wont debate the issue of VVT... I turned it off 50,000 miles ago so I don't think it is related to my problem..
If you have any ideas or things to look for relating to my problem that would be great...
I personally never tried that combination.. So someone else might be better to answer that question. 3.42 with 34.5 inch tires does not work well at all.
The old girl is getting ... old 250k miles... lol
This has started happening in the last month...
I have a slight miss at idle when cold, it goes away after 30 seconds to a minute and does not affect acceleration or steady throttle. It goes away before I start driving down the road. I am not...
It seems to me running 33's wont look that good with a 6 inch lift and will serve no Overlanding function... 4 inches is plenty.
My rig has a 4 inch lift on 315's (same height as 35"s) 10 in travel up front and a very comfortable ride with King shocks it handles great on and off road. 75 mph...
I am running Goodyear Territory MT's now 315/70R17 they are about 34.5 tall and 10 in wide. Good tires in wet snow and sand. Low noise and smooth.
I was running 35's before they were 34.6 tall and 12 in wide. The narrower 315/70R17 give me better traction and slightly better MPG.
If...
Thanks that gives me a great place to start looking. I insulated that whole area with a foil lined insulation, I wonder if that is why my reception went way down..
It was a torque converter... Replaced it with a billet TC and tore down the trans to inspect and clean it out also changed some springs in the valve body to improve shifting... Cost me $2864.
Interesting how might the rear defroster affect it.? My defroster is disconnected... Does the defroster affect the fob reception? BTW my auto start works but, I have to be pretty close to the truck to get the fob functions to work now...
I acquired the transfer case and TCCM from the same vehicle and installed them and a new switch in the dash. I did not program anything. It was a simple plug and play with no problems.
Thanks for the ideas I will try them out.
I did check fuel pressure with my tester. I will have to duplicate the test under those conditions too.
I did change the oil last year and it looks clean.
One other point I missed mentioning. When I changed the spark plugs all the plugs on the...
When cruising at 45 mph in 5th or 6th gear around 1500 to 1900 RPM it starts feeling like an engine miss. This happens the most on a very slight up hill grade. If I accelerate or down shift it goes away. Sometime in the morning when I first take off I will get a miss while accelerating...
When any of my ball joints go out I just replace all 4 upper and lower control arms at one time. I do beat mine up off road and do not want to break anything when in the wilderness.
My fobs have been working fine in the past years operating the locks from a hundred or more feet away.. In the past 6 months they seem to only work within 15 feet or less sometime not at all.
Both batteries have been replaced and that didn't help at all.
Is this a programing issue or do I...
I do around 3000 miles a year off road with mine. It's been to Lake Tahoe, California, Oregon, Nevada, Utah, Colorado and Arizona. It's driven pretty hard sometime but, I try not to do too much body damage... lol
Catching a little air...
