....also, im not sure if it was necessary but i did remove the water neck/thermostat housing to free up room in the front and make everything easier, so i had to hunt down a gasket and add a little coolant afterwards, no big deal- jc98ss

Yes sir, i did it myself, it was a breeze...i bought standard motor products FJ504 from rockauto along with a new bracket and Fel-pro gasket kit....had the upper intake off in about 45 mins being very careful not to break anything, even though i did have to replace a couple brittle vacuum...- jc98ss

For what its worth, i wanted to come back and post that my starting issues have been fixed.....i replaced both the fuel pump and upgraded spider injector... fires up first crank every time now, idles super smooth....fuel mileage increased- jc98ss

I hear you but it's not hard brother, youtube will walk you right through it step by step....plus you know some shop didn't put in a crappy budget pump so that you'll have to come back in a year....simple hand tools, a couple jack stands, and a little bit of time....always clean fuel tank out...- jc98ss

Im sorry about your shop experiences....fuel pressure gauge is under 40 bucks on Amazon, i bought the OMT brand, fits all GM....simple to use, Schrader valve on drivers side of intake, super easy....plenty of videos on Youtube.....just change your fuel pump man, use a good one, dont go...- jc98ss

Results of fuel pressure bleed off confirm slow leak in check valve Key on, engine off = 62 psi After 2 seconds drops and holds at 58 Key off drops slowly to 50 psi in 1 minute 5 minutes with key off = 30 psi My plan is to throw in a new Delphi fuel pump in the next couple of weeks.- jc98ss

Fuel Pump Relay issue...maybe?
I believe the reason the computer is dropping the signal to the fuel pump mentioned in post 35 is because the ignition is active but the rpm is under 250, kicking the P1351 code.....cutting the fuel pump means the computer is doing its job once symptoms for this code coming from the crankshaft...- jc98ss

Sorry i haven't responded until now, i need to fix my notifications in the settings....our tahoes are doing the exact same thing, and im almost certain it is the check valve in mine...the obd2 scanner i bought is bafx products bluetooth scanner, it's under $25 on amazon and has definitely...- jc98ss

Mine is pretty consistent which makes me believe its losing pressure and not a loose wire or connection (I've already checked them all anyways and added several extra ground straps).... this issue never happens when the truck is cold....first thing in the morning it always fires up, after...- jc98ss

Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to swap those parts even if you weren't dealing with the code...i stuck with all AC Delco on my tune up, coming from the LS1 world I learned a long time ago to not cut any corners.....these old L31's are cool motors, i like how simple they are, but the operating...- jc98ss
