I took the exhaust manifold off. Welded a nut to the broken stud and unscrewed it...sucks too because had I known about the Dorman product I would have went that route.
I have been a State Farm customer for almost 40 years. I checked out USAA a few times and was floored at the increase I would have to pay. I would never use Geico as they do not want to use factory OEM parts. I learned this through the body shop I use. They say they are the worse. I don't like...
My Engine Builder told me that if you tune out the AFM you still have the parts to fail and at 240k miles on my Tahoe I didn't want any issues.
On my wifes 2010 Suburban I am going to do a AFM Delete with LS& Lifters and a LS7 Cam and replace the oil pump while I am in it. I might as well use...
I am going to finish my project by going to either a whipple or pro charger. add 45 injectors, long tube headers, 4l80 Tranny. So far I have replaced the oil pump, did the DOD/AFM delete, Added a Low Lift Cam. And used ARP Bolts. My Goal is 450 HP at the wheels.
It was tuned with HP Tuners at a performace shop so I don't have to worry about unlinking it. It isn't password protected either but that doesn't matter because EFI Live doesn't see the password from what I have been told. My biggest deal is to get data to you guys so you can see what needs to...
I already own EFI Live because of my Duramax, Looking to tune my 07 Tahoe when I finally get the procharger project done. What would I have to do to get it tuned? Do you sell license for EFI Live?
Be Careful on how big of a Cam you go with. If you go too big you will need to get a decent stall converter for your transmission so you are now spending more money. Stage 1 cam with LS7 lifters and bigger springs and a tune. I am not sure if Black Bear can do a straight too without any data so...
This is the advice I would be giving as well. My Son deals alot with On3 Performance and it is a cheap way to increase HP, However You really need to do a AFM Delete using new lifters and a new cam. I would go with a stage 1 cam get it tuned in before I would do any turbo work. On3 Performance...
I think you have a afm issue. A partial lifter collapsed. I wouldn't start it up anymore because you risk damage to the cam. You really need to atleast pull the valve covers and check for loose push rods. That would give you more information and be less intrusive at this point. If one or more...
Never heard of having the hardware in place but not using it. I have never heard of any 07-08 Denali that comes built without AFM. My point about the Camaro is when equipped with a manual tranny it doesn't have AFM. However it is still a LS based motor same as what is in the 07-08 Denali. I am...
If you want to delete the AFM, Install LS7 Lifters and a LS7 Cam. Call Texas Speed, They have a complete kit for almost a 1k and they can also do delete tune as well. I chose to have mine tuned on a dyno. Luckily my son works at a performance shop so I got free labor.
I hate rust, I would get this up on lift and really check it out. check out above the coils and under the doors. Another bad spot is above the gas tank.
You can also do a can tune but it will not give you the option of turning off the AFM. Only a delete in my opinion is the best option. Put a...
A 5.3, 6.0,6.2 are all LS Motors. They will bolt right up. Find a pullout from another truck,SUV, or a car that has a LS motor and use it. Keep your heads and intake for a easier build. I am going to get a 6.2 from a Camaro standard shift so I don't have to worry about the AFM and modify my...
From what I understand all LS motors have AFM except those with a manual tranny...as in a Camaro. I also thought fleet models were exempt but according to my sources they too were equip with AFM. So basically anything with a automatic transmission had AFM (V8 motors)
From what I have read when you tune a vehicle you leave a foot print of the tune. I use EFI Live on my Duramax but it is way out of warranty plus the changes wasn't made until the past couple of years. From my understanding if their is evidence of a tune any motor warranty is denied.
Doesn't tuning your 2017 SUV causes warranty issues. I hear that GM will capture a snapshot of the ECM for any engine related warranty and deny warranty on engines that have been tuned...
I replaced the oil sending unit on my Tahoe by reaching way back and getting a socket on it and replacing it. Took 15 minutes to do it. It is a Pain but doable
