What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Sold her after 1 year 2 months and 16k miles. Was a good ride but I want to save up for a new vehicle with a warranty.

    Blew hard brake line

I did the Dorman pre-bent stainless kit a month or so ago. The fit is pretty good. It requires a lot of patience to do though. Snaking everything between the body and frame, and loosening the line on the ABS is a slow process.

https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/fs-2000-chevy-tahoe-lt-4x4-195k.105460/ Well, it's listed on a few forums now. I wash it and take recent pictures tomorrow and then it goes on Craigslist/Facebook for the vultures...

    FS: 2000 Chevy Tahoe LT 4x4, 195k

https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4235/35739825282_d491869ac7_c.jpg Selling my GMT800 Tahoe. It is the 5.3L Vortec, with the tow package (G80 diff, 3.73 gears). It's been a solid vehicle for the last 15k miles and 1 year, being both my daily driver and tow rig. With my commute getting longer, from...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Haha, well my commute is going from 25 miles to 100 miles a day. I'd like to get my Cobalt SS running so I can enjoy the MPGs. I don't think I need a SUV anytime soon, and I eventually want a diesel Colorado.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Soldered new wires to the knock sensor body harness. I replaced the sensor harness about 4k miles ago, and then the body harness got brittle and was connected by 1 strand. The Tahoe is getting old... Time to detail and put her up for sale...

I also found out that my fuel pump pickup must be going bad. It fuel starved on the highway and I limped it to the gas station. Could only get 20.000 gallons (exact) into the tank. Ahh old truck problems.

How to: Front hub, cv axle replacement

Another way instead of using a chisel on the knuckle is to rent a hub puller/slide hammer kit from your local auto parts store. Took less than 10 minutes to get the hub out at the cost of 2 lug nuts that got deformed due to the power I put on the slider hammer. FYI, only remove the axle if...

    Lug nut question, 2005 Denali

You'll be fine. The new ones are still conical seat and will center the wheel perfectly.

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

That’s every 2 months for me [emoji23] My truck doesn’t burn any oil so I never top off, but that just seems so often. I also installed a Fumoto drain valve so that’s gonna make the change less messy since I won’t have that huge stream when the drain plug comes out. Sent from my iPhone using...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Did an oil change and replaced the right front wheel hub. Besides being 92 degrees out, everything was straight forward. How long does everybody run their oil for? I used to do 3k for my conventional 5w-30... but then I end up doing an oil change in less than 3 months. Thinking of stretching...

Towing - time for my YDXL to earn its keep

Yes, trimmed down the snap cover. There is no gap, there's enough overlap that it's fine. These mirror housings aren't watertight anyway.

Towing - time for my YDXL to earn its keep

I used 3 washers up top (12 total) to level out my tow mirrors. Wish I had the longer wheelbase chassis, but I only have a Tahoe!

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Like hulk66049, I need to get my Tahoe more presentable. I did a quick wash and spray wax tonight as it sat under a tree at my parents house for over a month. It still needs a proper detail, but I'm always busy and don't have time to maintain any of my cars. One day this summer I'll have a free...

What vehicle related issue did you have today?

I'm going through this right now. I'm really wishing I took my shop's offer of $550 for replacing all lines. It's taken me 10+ hours so far and I'm not done. I bet they would have just lifted the body a few inches and had it done with ease.

I wouldn't wish replacing brake hard lines on anybody, not even my worst enemy. I finally have all front lines off the truck. Tomorrow I fight with putting all of them back on.

    Towing

I wouldn't worry about a 5300lb travel trailer. The Tahoe will do it fine. Just keep up with the trans fluid changes, don't let it slip in 4th, and you'll be fine. If you think it's needed, get a WDH for more stability. I don't tow that often, but I'll hook up a 5500lb car trailer to mine 5-6...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I did the ABS module to rear axle brake line today. Never. Again. Still need to tighten up everything and bleed the brakes. The Dorman line fits pretty well. Not perfect bends in some areas so it didn't snap into the clip, but it doesn't touch anywhere on the body. Don't want to do the rest, so...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Yea mine burst at a stoplight when I pushed on the brake hard when I leaned over to adjust my tow mirror. Next time I stopped I knew something was wrong with all this extra pedal travel. Pulled into the nearest mall and found a puddle right by the ABS module. Very glad I didn't need to make any...
