Well just got back from having the rust repair quoted. The guy looked at it and said he might have to cut out and reeled a new quarter panel in, repaint the trip-coat so worst about $4k. At that price I would do it no problem. He did notice it was bondo-ed before and repainted so he started... -

Damn thanks! I just found some of Tony's posts about his kits. They really seem like the way to go. I was reading somewhere on them that with the rear shock extenders you can retain the stock autohide shock height. I can do all that with body on? I'd love to do a body off frame restore but its not feasible at all. I do have an air compressor and rotary air tools with wire wheels to be able to really get a lot of the accessible rust off. -

On the way from Seattle to Denver I averaged 15.4 mpg with two adults and three kids. I was running 75-85 mph the entire time though. Yeah it came out of Northern Canada. I have it in the Seattle area now though and I don't have to worry about salt, just being wet 8 months out of a year. So I'm hoping I can get the fender repaired and the rest won't get worse. -

I love the ride of this thing and its had the blown air bags since I got it. I can't wait to replace them and feel the difference. Since I tow a boat a lot, I'm going with the Arnott's stock remanufactured Z55 shocks with new compressor.- Silent D

Painted Escalade roof rack
It does make an odd howling at freeway speeds now when there is a cross wind. It has been enough of an annoyance to put the cross bars back on though. -

I recently found out via rpo that I have 3.42 gears. What's the thought on switching the stock air intake for an aftermarket? The stock is already a cold air intake. The only benefit I can see for switching is reducing the sharp angels of the stock intake system.- Silent D
