HELP ME!!!
I didn’t use AC Delco knock sensors but I really don’t think that’s my issue. The CEL and knock sensor code has only popped up over the last few months. The truck has always had the stumble/hesitation since I bought it and it wasnt setting off the CEL. The issue has progressively gotten worse...- theprovider

I believe so. There’s a screen when I pull the filter off. I replaced the FPR tonight with an AC Delco one....yaaaa $100 flying out of my wallet! Didn’t fix the issue, however. Should I replace fuel pump pro-actively?
I drove my old Sierra (160k Miles) back and forth to Tampa from Houston 3 times in 2 years. Never skipped a beat. Loved taking it over The wife’s car because of the room and how smooth it was on the highway.....then I lifted it and put big tires on it and she didn’t enjoy the ride so much...- theprovider

Whoa. Awesome! Thank you!! I looked for the EGR after work. I definitely do not have one. FPR will be my next replacement. I also want to put a stock air intake back on. Fuel filter was the very first thing I did before anything else. It holds at 42 psi. Do you mean does it hold after I turn the truck on then off? When I first turned the key on (engine off) the PSI went to 50 then slowly dropped to 42. I think I’m gonna replace the FPR just for shits and...- theprovider

I’m leaning towards pump or dirty screen on the pump. It drives a lot worse with a full tank of gas I noticed. Also I pulled the vac line off the FPR and the gauge spiked. I read that was a good sign and the FPR is doing it’s job. It looks Pretty new and so does the vac line- theprovider

So I got a longer hose to test while driving. Around the 34 Mark is when it starts doing it. You can see the needle on the gauge kind of bounce around. Knock sensor code. I need to get a longer hose for the fuel pressure gage so I can see it while Driving. The one I have is just a tad to short to get it under the wiper. Also this seems awfully loose and the bolt is as tight as it gets.- theprovider

I haven’t had a chance to check the pressure when it’s surging. Need a longer hose to pull the gauge up through the hood. My scan tool does show low trim and high trim fuel pressure. Only reason I'm ruling out the knock sensors is because its doing the same exact thing. Something is causing me to get a knock sensor code, they're detecting a misfire or something. I switched to the mid grade (89) has a while back. That definitely helped with my gas gauge issue. I’ll try premium next fill up. No EGR. It does have fuel pressure regulator and to be honest with you it looks pretty new. Even the hose running from it to the air intake is clean and not dry/cracked.
