Can it be heard in the engine bay?
If it’s in the engine bay is it passenger side near the firewall?
Is the noise constant? Only when engine is cold? Does it change with the rpm’s?
It’s pretty dramatic change. How’s your tire pressure. I’m not sure about az or ca since it’s warmer. We are in winter blend gas season and the mpg drop a bit.
I’ve had this happen on my Sierra. Going on your information you may have an air pocket in your heater core. Try this. Have the engine off and cold
Make sure coolant is at the proper level.
Open the cap on the reservoir tank.
Start the vehicle with the coolant cap off.
Wait for the engine...
Time for new tires. I have a 17 yukon slt with stock 18’s and stock height with 265/65’s. Most of the bigger tire threads include rigs with leveling kit. What are some taller tire sizes that will work to help fill the well?
I’m a firm believer in just a drop and swap. The filter replacement and pan cleaning are the important things being done here. When I did mine the magnet was slugged over in break in material. A lot of fluid comeS out during a filter change. Just the nature of flushing machines can provide...
I’m going with High Pressure Fuel Pump.
Mine does it. I used a stethoscope and found the noise the loudest in the fuel lines. No this isn’t a simple fuel pump switch either. Involves removing the intake manifold setting engine to tdc and replacing one time use fuel lines. I hope I’m proven wrong...
The 16-17’s have a 10 year 150k mi injector special warranty. Try searching or call a dealership to see if 15’s have any special warranties issued by nhtsa.
I’ll be replacing my injectors and high flow fuel pump soon. Im having trouble locating the correct injector part number. I keep finding injectors that say “use with injectors marked (insert number here)” and I am trying to figure what injector I need without removing them first. I understand...
so as pnw said. You’ll take the 8” pipe and TAP IT to contact the filter seal. Once it bites the old seal turn the pipe into the old seal and it will thread onto it. Once its pretty snugged on there attach the 90 and the short piece. The purpose of the short piece is to hit with a hammer and tap...
Its been awhile since I did it. I think I did it in conjunction of jacking the trans up. Just be sure you have something to remove the old filter seal. A straight 8” pipe with a 90 and another 5” sections works well. If your going to loosen the exhaust bolts use a 6 point socket not a 12.
Pretty sure its a high pressure fuel pump. Mine does this. Its loud it literally ticks every second and doesn’t speed up with throttle. I ran a stethoscope everywhere when I had it raised, the ticking was especially loud on the fuel line headed up to the bay. I’m guessing its loudest in the...
I had a driver side hub go bad on my 17 xl. @ 62k mi. Raise the vehicle grab tire at 12 and 6 o’clock and wiggle. Then 3 and 9 o’clock. There should be no play. The looseness (if it’s bad) sort of feels like your lug nuts are a little loose. You described the exact issues I had. All the...
Yeah I tested at 12.55 after sitting all night. It’s in the high 13’s when running. It’s an intermittent problem. I purposely ran the battery down to 12.1 and it fired right up. Seems driving in the rain and restarting are the problem. I’ll have to dig around at starter connections. No warranty...
hi all, I have a 2017 Yukon xl slt with 65k mi. I’m having a issue starting the rig. I just get one loud click when trying to start and then nothing. It seems to start after multiple attempts. It happened awhile ago once on a rainy day and then restarted recently (we just hit rainy season, so...
