Im not sure. It would have to be really small. The gap in my fitting is only about 1/8th inch I suppose you could install a small valve in the line and just crack it open. Mine just looks more clean is all.
Update time! Its fixed!. Here is how I fixed it. Please keep in mind that this is NOT how it should be fixed but its how i fixed it and its working so far. If you wanted to fix this the correct way you would have to install an OEM radiator. Since i paid over 200 bucks for this one and they wont...
Ill do that. Mt Tahoe does not have an oil cooler. So ill try and get a radiator that does. This aluminum one does but I dont think im gonna be able to get it to work.
I found this flare kit for my truck and wonder if anybody has tried them out. They have decent reviews and over 700 sold. I wanted Z71 flares but cant find them in my color and I dont want to pay to have them painted. 2004 Chevy Tahoe LT...
Yes i have rear heat. I do have the T its just not pictured. Thanks for the idea though.
Everything was flushed thoroughly before adding the green stuff. Including the heater core and engine block. All of this was done when I put the new radiator in. I found a hose that might work for running...
Thanks for the info. Not sure if I'll ever switch it back. I've had way too many bad experiences with dexcool. All my chevys and all my friends chevys are running it and no one has reported any problems yet.
Cold level is right at the seam on the tank.
Gonna see if I greatly reduce the...
What's wrong with the green stuff? I heard that orange coolant is terrible. It turns to sludge over time. From what I've heard. Anyways I'm almost sure this is it. I'll take that top hose off this weekend and look into the nipple with a flashlight. I bet there is no orifice inside. I'll have to...
It didn't work guys. I routed the houses like factory and I'm still getting coolant rushing into the surge tank from that top hose. I had the system pressure tested and they did find a leak on the water pump but the new pump fixed that. It still holds tons of pressure and heats up great if I...
The radiator is aftermarket. But had great reviews. I think you guys are onto something about the houses not routed correctly. Here in a few hours I'll go out there and rout them correctly. I'll keep you all updated.
I have not, But i dont see how it could cause a problem. It heats up just fine and holds alot of pressure if i keep that tube plugged. Ill have it tested though.
Ok ill see if i can get some better pics tomorrow.
Yep, so my water pump is definitely not turning backwards. well, I'm out of ideas. I guess my last step is to take it to the dealer. Ive taken it to a couple local shops and they have no idea. Any other ideas guys? I might just leave that hose plugged permanently if i cant figure this out.

I installed it exactly as the gates factory sent it to me. Spring side goes into the pump. They already had the black rubber gasket on the thermostat and had it installed into the thermostat housing. All I did was put the black paper housing gasket on and bolt it back up. If you set the housing...
Update! last weekend I received the new Gates pump in the mail. It has the new thermostat and housing installed already. Just had to pop the housing off to install the housing gasket. It went on just like it should. But the problem still remains. I still have coolant running through the top...
I have a 2004 Tahoe and want to get the cluster out of a Denali with the trans temp gauge. My cluster does not have the trans temp gauge. From what iv'e read it should plug right in and work. I know ill have to get it programmed so the mileage is the same but the trans temp gauge should function...
I have no idea. best i can tell you is e85 has to be around 27 cents cheaper for me to break even. 87 right now is $2.39 E85 is $2.19. It went up from yesterday. I get on average 14.5 mpg on 87.
Filled my tahoe up with E85 yesterday for the first time in I would say over 100k miles. Regular 87 was $2.39 and E85 was $2.09. I calculated I would need a 27 cent difference to break even so 30 cents should more than do it. I ran the truck's low fuel light came on before filling to try and get...
Mine is also always in 4auto. I thought thats where it was suppossed to stay. Do you get better mileage with it off? When i hit the top button it says stabilitrack disabled. I thought i was suppossed to be driving around in that mode but i didnt wanna damage anything.
Found the RPO codes. It does say L59 on it. If I calculated right to break even E85 would have to be about 27 cents cheaper than Regular. This assumes im getting an average of 15mpg on gas and 13 on E85. I might try it if gas gets high in my area again. Currently they are pretty close. E85 is...
Where can I find my RPO codes? Are they still in the glovebox like they were back in the day? My gas cap is currently black but i have no idea if its original or not.
I live in indiana near lake Michigan, It can get quite cold this time of year. E85 is pretty common around here. I would say atleast 25-30 stations have it within a 50 mile range. It costs around $1.85 a gallon. So you think the truck will run just fine on it even with 255k miles? Also how can i...
So out of curiosity I did a vin decode on my 2004 Tahoe. To my surprise it said I have the flex fuel 5.3. My dad has owned the truck since it had 150k on it. Ive owned it for a while now and its got 255k on it. Still running like it was new. Im 100% positive my dad has never ran e85 in it. As...
