Yea. That’s why I was questioning it since It went from perfectly fine to not even being able to jump it. I’m going to pick it up soon so I’ll check on the old battery.
Hey Guys -
Had to get my Yukon towed over the weekend. Here was the situation. Saturday morning, starts right up. Go to daughter's soccer game about 5 min away. There for about an hour. Come back to the truck to leave and it won't start. Just flashing lights and clicking. Some indicators...
Every ~6500 miles for a rotate give or take. I’ll hsve to check with the dealership on the ball joints. I don’t exactly know how to do it but perhaps it would be worth learning.
Yea, I guess that’s a possibility, I don’t recall anything like that but ya never know. Wife has been driving it to...
I think he is more referring to the life of the tires. Like how does this set last me 44% less tread life then my first set ? Would having an issue with your shocks really take that much off the tread.
And we were dealing with the shock issue for some time. It was from right around 60k - 66k...
Yea exactly. Easy answer and probably just wants me to go away. And you may be right. That they didn’t actually check my alignment. Some people here are commenting that they don’t actual put it on a machine to check but rather it’s a visual. I just can’t see how that could be helpful in anyway...
They definitely didn’t align 750 miles ago they just “checked alignment”.
I’m thinking about calling GM and I have another local shop that is highly recommended that I may bring it to and they will align it for $80 vs 130.
And of course I’m in desperate need of tires because I’m going on a...
At the Dealership now.
Yea I didn’t expect much. He’s saying it probably all started when my shocks went bad back before 66k. That my tires most likely took a beating. And only escalated from the last service from 77k to now almost 78k.
Like everyone can see I need 4 new tires regardless so I...
Here are some pics. First one is my rear. Tread is low but no uneven wear and innner is fine. You can actually see and feel the tread. 2nd 3rd 4th pic are fronts. You can see the uneven wear. The inners are bald, no tread at all.

Same dealer. The first section you quoted was from the 66k service after shocks were replaced.
The second section you quoted was from my 77k service 4 weeks ago. I’m guessing they recommending an alignment because they are recommending 4 new tires.
But you’re right. I should pay them...
Oh man. Hmmm I actually don’t recall seeing a print out at 66k when they replaced my shocks. But they do have an alignment line item in there that says something like.
“Alignment complete. Set back to factory settings”
I assumed that meant an alignment was done. I’m guessing an alignment...
Sure I can post pics a little later. Here’s a list of items done at the service 750 miles ago.
- tire rotation / oil
- replace L/F sway bar link
- wheel alignment check
- R/F axle seal leaking, replace inner shaft seal
- stabilizer shaft link replacement
***
- Recommended service - 4WD...
No. That’s not it. I had my alignment done when I installed the new tires at 50k and I also had an alignment done when they replaced the shocks at 66k
My reasoning for the theory is that my front tires (now rear tires) were/are fine before the last service. No uneven wear on them. The only...
Hey Guys.
Here we go. So I was at the Dealership about 4 weeks ago for oil / rotate and they did warranty work. Axle leak and replacing endlinks.
Fast forward 2 weeks later and I notice that my front tire pressure is low. Slow leak. I filled it up 2-3 times in the passed 2 weeks. On Tuesday...
Well they replaced the rear shocks and it’s riding pretty close to new. I’m pretty satisfied overall. I still think it’s strange that the tech said there was nothing wrong with the rears and they went ahead and replaced them anyways. Who knows. Maybe it was put into fail safe mode when the...
Yea. The tech did mention to me that he checked the sway bar and links. All checked out.
Someone mentioned in another forum that once a shock goes out it could put the system into “Fail Safe” mode. I get that but I can’t imagine that the tech wouldn’t reset or normalize after installing a...
Yep! I have an extended warranty. I had no idea they were recently OOS. Thankful that they have them at least but I’m still concerned that I’m going to get the truck back and it still drive like a POS.
***Update***
GMC Dealership is installing new rear shocks today even though they can’t find anything wrong with the existing rears. Should get it back today! Crossing my fingers but not holding my breathe.
