    Drive with lift glass open?

Be advised that the lift gate glass is very expensive to replace. And just as easy to break. I just secure the entire gate (partially open) with the load extending out. I’ve hauled lumber, kitchen appliances and furniture with no problems. Hope this helps.

    Onstar Not Working

I got rid of my OnStar. Just wasn’t worth the money and it didn’t work half the time anyway. They have loads of excuses and it’s all BS!

    RF Outer Door Handle Broken

I replaced all my 1999 Tahoe LT with after market, chrome handles after going with the OEM replacements 2 times. The GMC/OEM are just too weak to handle the weight of the doors no matter how hard or soft you treat them. The chrome went better with the silver metal flake anyway.

    What is this leaking?

You might want to put some sort of sealant on both sides of the gasket when putting it on. My 99 Tahoe had the same problem…until I put the sealant on the new gasket and cover.

Where are we mounting our fire extinguishers?

When I had my 1984 BRONCO II 4WD I mounted it on the front humpwell on the passenger side. A friend of mine would always laugh and kid me about it making silly/stupid remarks. Fast forward 3 months and I see he’s got a different vehicle. So I ask, “What happened?” His vehicle caught fire and...

    Hello from Finland

Aloha & Welcome from O’ahu, Hawaii! You’ve got quite a beauty on your hands. Did it come with the owner’s manual. A manual might just answer some of your concerns and questions. YOUTUBE has some good informational videos on maintenance. It’s helped me with my 2012 Yukon many a time. Good luck...

    Squirrel Damage (con't)

Yum! Squirrel…good eating if you get a few. Not much meat, but if you get a couple or so it would be worth dressing them out. But if you poison them they are worthless. Just saying….

Hello, I'm new here and have a couple of questions if you don't mind

Aloha and Welcome to the Forum. When it comes to the AC you may want to take it a professional as they will have the parts and tools ( ex:vacuum pumps and compressors) to bring it back to life. Seeing how it’s been idle for so long it may only need new seals and other synthetic parts. They can...

    Cargo Net

My Yukon had the holes where the bolts go covered by the molding. But there was a sort of flat spot where the bolts/hooks were supposed to go. I got a very small drill bit and drilled out the center of one of the flat spot and lo and behold there was a nut plate and the bolt/hook fit right in...

Bridgestone tires. good or bad? My experience.

You get what you pay for. The tires that come with the vehicle, car or SUV, are basic crap tires. If you get 10K out of them you’re lucky. Low end, basic tires are just to get it off the lot and down the road a ways. I always go with premium, high quality tires. In the long run they last longer...

    Motor Mounts

I replaced my 2012 Yukon SLE (5.3L) motor mounts at 100k. They were hydraulic and one was leaking, so I replaced both. The hydraulic ones have a lot of problems, so I went with the old rubber/steel ones. No problems after 3.3K miles.

Problem with keyless entry, unlock does not work on all my fobs.

Sounds like the trans/recvr unit is bad. My 99 Tahoe LT had the same trouble. What made it worse was the new one was bad too! Took a while to get one out here but it finally came and all ended well. Aloha!

    Crack in radiator

Barr’s may help until you can get a new radiator. Spend the extra time and money and get the completely metal radiator. They are expensive but they won’t crack like the OEM ones. And I speak from experience. My 99 Tahoe’s radiator cracked on the plastic side on the top. The OEM replacement...

    MILEAGE POLL

It’s paid for and I’ll keep it for as long as either one of us lives. Plus, at 129K, I don’t want to say anything nice and jinx it.
