Ouch, hope the foot heals fast! I keep thinking about supercharging my '07 2500 (when and if funds allow) but I'm held back by two things: one, the body is starting to rust in a few places and I don't know if it's worth dumping $8k into it... and two, that $8k could go partway towards a Duramax...
Nice truck! Looks like those are probably 285/70R17s (33s) on the H2 wheels, so you've got a mild lift too. At minimum cranked front torsion keys but it looks similar to mine that I've lifted about 2" front and rear and still had to do some trimming and front fender liner reshaping to not rub.
Get an 08+. I bought my '07 2500 in 2020 without realizing that it was the last year of the 4L80e and I've regretted it since, but only because I should have held out for a 6L90e. I've got the 4.10 diffs, which is good for the 4 speed, but 1st gear is still painfully tall on this rig. I don't...
Thanks, it could very well just be that. I've had it for two years now and didn't think much about it last summer, so I guess it's not terrible. We just found ourselves wishing for more air when feeling hot/carsick/etc.
Oh, and I also removed the cabin air filter I'd added a couple of years ago to see if that made a difference - and there's certainly more air with no filter, but it's not a huge difference. I'm just looking for the usual "blast me in the face" mode most cars have!
Hi all,
Trying to figure out a problem with front HVAC before it gets too hot during the summer! My '07 Suburban has the auto climate control setup and when I set the fan to full blast there's only a modest amount of air coming from the upper vents. A/C itself works fine and the air gets cold...
Also, I don’t think you’ll even be close to 10k lbs on one of the Black Series trailers. They’ve got really high GVWR ratings because they’re well built, but at a dry weight of under 6k lbs on the HQ17 you’ll be hard pressed to be pulling more than 8-8.5k lbs unless you start filling drawers...
I’ve got an 07 Suburban 2500, and I think you’d be well served by a ‘13. The best place for info on the 2500 models is actually a Facebook group dedicated to them, at https://www.facebook.com/groups/1733635880235636/ . I’ve got a Facebook account just for that group!
So yeah, IMO a small lift...
Yeah, it'd be nice if it was just a gauge thing but I doubt it. The 900 platform seems to have a lot fewer of those issues from what I've read, and it was really odd that fuel came spilling out before the pump shut off! I think I'll have to go pull the evap lines off and see how much charcoal...
Do any of you guys know if this problem also applies to the NNBS Suburbans?
I’ve got an ‘07 2500 (6.0 LY6) that I think is stuck with the same issue. I just went to fill it up for the first time today and found that despite the gauge showing empty, it wouldn’t take more than 31 gallons AND...
Funny how that works, but it turns out that the losses are just less than the mechanical fan. Makes sense if you think about the flexibility having a computer control the fan offers -- multiple speeds, including the ability to not run the fan at all when not needed (like at highway speed).
My...
I just ordered an OE (but not OEM) 1500 radiator fan/shroud/motor combo, plus the wiring harness from Nelson Performance. Hopefully it works well! I needed a Black Bear performance tune anyway, so I'll have it enabled in the PCM at the same time.
Also subbing to keep an eye on this, I'm thinking of doing a "level" (2-3" lift) kit on mine and 32-33" tire. Mine will be the family daily driver for a long time, so nothing very extreme.
Hi guys,
I've got a bad (stuck) fan clutch on my '07 Suburban 2500 with the LY6 motor. Looking at parts diagrams, it seems that the vehicle came with either an electric or mechanical cooling fan depending on the options.
While I don't want to spend a bunch of money on a conversion, I like the...
Have you looked for GMT900 trucks too, or are you partial to just the 800s? I just bought (overpaid...) the only 900 2500 I could find in my area, because I wanted the interior of the 900 but I also wanted it to last longer than 1500s, and the 6.0/4L80E seems to be the ticket for that. $8k for...
