I had a similiar noise that i thought was coming from my rear springs. I bought a few packs of Tein Spring Silencer Rubber: Large (130mm-up Dia). They work similar to what is on the stock springs, which i didnt have. The silencers didnt stop the noise though. Instead the dealer replaced the slip...
Sorry for the delay guys- switched jobs and moved to new state- now in Tampa, FL.
Ive got a pretty basic drop- only thing done to front is the 2" eibach springs. The rear has the belltech 3/4 spring and shock extender. As Tony said, I ordered from him (he was very helpful with my questions)...
Fire730
We were chasing a noise in the rear for a while to the point where my wife wouldnt drive the Tahoe and we were thinking of trading it in.
The noise came from what sounded like the right rear passenger- a rubbing noise when going over speed bumps. I went to 4 different shops and kept...
Thanks for the comments.
When I got the truck it had 2 inch eibach drop springs on the front and rear. I wanted to level it out, so I put the belltechs on the rear (ordered from Tony). I used the spacer on the rear for a 3 inch drop and now its completely level. It was a little stiff at...
I finally got around to getting the 3/4 BellTech rear springs and shock extenders on Tahoe. Swapped out the 2inch Eibachs I had on rear to even it out with the front, so now its completely level.
Also spent the last 2 days removing the badges and pinstripes.
Now I need to fix the ugly...
For now Im just looking for suspension work
I ordered the 3/4 Belltech rear spings from Tony to swap out with the Eibachs that are currently on there. I know its supposed to be an easy job, but Im not too confident in any of the shops Ive been to recently since they all gave me a different...
Just ordered the 3/4 BellTechs w shock extenders. Sure hope this solves the noise problem. Bonus if it improves the ride quality. Ill keep you posted once they arrive and get installed.
Thanks for the help Tony
Im trying to find a shop that does custom work near Savannah GA. The performance shop in town told me all the shops in Sav shut down thanks to the economy down turn. Im cool with driving 2hr south to Jacksonville FL or 2 hrs north to Charleston, SC.
So far the nearest place I can find is in...
After doing some more net searches and speaking with an Eibach Tech, I found out that the rear springs were put on upside down! Was told compressed coils should be on top and the word "Eibach" should be right side up. No idea if that is the issue or if it will make a difference, but thats the...
Update:
Tahoe has been to 3 shops with different thoughts.1 Chevy dealer says its a bad spring. 2. Performance shop couldnt figure it out, but said spring is supposed to compact like that over time (but they hadnt heard of shock extenders?). 3. Tireshop says its a bad shock, although they...
I have the eibach 2/2 springs on my 08 Tahoe and I am looking to switch them out. After speaking with tony I am leaning toward the Belltech, although I like the 3/5 look better. The eibach rides pretty rough down here in Ga and and Im not dealing with the giant pot holes that you mentioned.
Thanks Tony
Ill probably be getting back with you shortly on the BellTech setup
As to what I have now, should those rear springs be smashed down like that? Is it worse since I dont have shock extenders currently? Will I see any improvement in ride quality switching from an eibach w/no...
Thanks for the PM, I cant respond since I dont have 10 posts yet. However- I think it is a 2 inch drop all the way around with the eibach springs on the front and rear.
We always thought the Tahoe rode a bit rough, but assumed it was the 40 series tires.
I would like to keep the drop at...
Hello
Finally joining the forum. It has been a valuable resource for me as I searched for a Tahoe. Bought an 08 Tahoe LT that already had some work done- 22s, drop springs. For now I just need to get a few kinks ironed out before I decide if I am going to do anything else to it.
My wife...
First time poster, looking for some help from someone who knows about dropkits.
Background: Purchased a 2008 Tahoe LT a few months ago, loved the way it looked- already had 22s and other features I wanted. It took a while to notice this, but whenever I go over a speed bump, the back rear...
