Thank you for the responses.
I have that same valve cover when I did afm delete last year. Also I had my heads reworked Last year. I'll pull the plug and post pics. Thank you
Pretty much what the title says. I have an oil leak coming out between the head and header. Wondering if it's just the gasket. Will do a compression test this weekend as my father says it could be a piston ring.... I thought I'd come here for any opinions first thanks.
If you haven't done the AFM delete then its a single bolt cam.
If you are going that deep into the engine I do the AFM delete. I have a thread where I did my afm delete last year and there is plenty of good info because I'd had asked alot of questions and there I all the right answers in there...
I have "low engine oil add oil" in my dash display. My engine oil is topped off.
Anyone no the reason for this? I tried couple things to have it removed but nothing.
2007 tahoe did an AFM delete last year to success. The oil sensor in the back of the engine is new from when I did the afm...
30-40psi at idle and 60psi hwy sometimes more. Tahoe runs good but I'm pretty sure I need to go back tighten up the exhaust manifold Get a ticking sound
So far after replacing oil pump, and installed newer oring(green) my low oil pressure has been solved. So I can finally say this AFM delete was a success and hope this thread can help years to come with my questions and the answers given by you fine gents. Special thanks to Iamdub and Wsteele...
I figured that be the next thing to do that I may have a shop handle. How's the difficulty of that? Would throwing a newer tyranny in be a wise choice also?
I tightened it by hand with some Blue loctite thanks guys. I'll wrap it up Sunday afternoon and give a start to see where the oil pressure it at.
I have a small oil leak shown in the picture below. I assume you pop that lid and replace?
I would say that pressure seems about right but would let a more experienced person around here confirm that. My problem could be not related to the oring I pulled pan today and tomorrow I pull the timing cover/oil pump to inspect oring and change pump
I will replace the pump with OP and get a new pickup tube with oring and also block the pressure relief valve deal.
Iamdub
No pressure test and I did not plug AFM towers which I should of done and will get to after I replace pump and pick up tube.
Thanks guys will keep posted
Found someone with similar issue
"Installed on 2007 Tahoe 5.3 Flex. Had the hard o-ring issue on the oil pump pickup which caused low oil pressure for the first 10 minutes after cold start. In my slanted driveway idle pressure would drop to just above 0. Once the oil was nice and hot the...
AFM already deleted. I'll probably just plug the pressure relief valve.
On one start up today I let the low oil pressure light come on and then revd the engine up and immediately oil pressure went above 50psi and stayed. So I wonder if your pressure relief valve theory being stuck open could be...
I did reuse the old pressure relief valve. Would this be a good place to start or change the pump first to the M10295?
Electrical I did leave one harness unplugged that plugged to old VLOM that was for the AFM.
Would an oil pressure test be of any worth?
The Orings I received were black(the smaller one) and Green. Came with a diagram picture showing which one to use as it showed to different pickuptube ends.

Link of oil pump I purchased
The oring I inserted was the green one and it fitted snug enough where it didn't even feel like it had to be bolted on the pump. So I'm hesitant to blame the oring.
When starting it, the pressure will shoot up to 40-60 psi and slowly drop down to zero then I get the low oil pressure warning light. After driving around for a couple minutes the pressure stabilizes above 40psi.
