What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Weird, these measure 11.5" across the tread and are 32.8" tall. My fender to ground measurements are 36" in front and 37.5" in the rear. There's only the slightest bit of rubbing on the drivers front where the washer bottle sits.

cooki3mnster's build - The Black Pearl

Well its been quite while, I guess a baby will do that lol. I've been able to do a few things to the Black Pearl over the past year or so. Most notably is the new wheels and tires. I picked up some bronze Method Double Standards in 17x9 and some Falken Wildpeak AT3/W in 285/70/17. I'm over the...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

New Wheels and Tires for the Yukon this week. Went with a 17X9 Method Double Standard and Falken Wildpeak AT3/W in 285/70/17. Swapped in some Pro Comp keys and turned the bars up a bit. I wasn't able to get enough lift out of it to not rub. I'm trying to source some lower mileage torsion bars.

[Solved] Dash Lights went out - 2005 Yukon XL

I agree, I'm going to open up the headlight switch and see if I can see anything. I did an LED swap a year or so ago . Not sure if an LED leg broke off and caused an issue. The socket for the fuse is in good shape.

[Solved] Dash Lights went out - 2005 Yukon XL

I went back to the truck with a flashlight and pliers, started pulling fuses and found that “TBC 2A” 15a fuse was blown. This one is in the interior fuse block on the Drivers side of the dash. Swapped a new one in and we’re good to go. Adding a screen cap that has the fuse highlighted for anyone...

[Solved] Dash Lights went out - 2005 Yukon XL

Hi All, Last night driving home I noticed that all my dash lights went out. The cluster still working and the warning lights still work. The LED screen in the cluster and the HVAC still work so I think it’s the illumination circuit. Ive been looking and don’t see an illumination fuse. Is it...

2005 Denali No crank no start

Took another look at it and it was indeed the Alternator. Jumped the truck and brought it up to 2000 rpm and Alt was only putting out 8.368vdc. Swapped out with a new unit and we are good to go.

2005 Denali No crank no start

Hey guys, A friend of min has a 2005 Denali and a few days ago had a no crank no start situation. He asked me to help and I found that the battery was only holding 2.63vdc. I thought easy peasy a new battery later and we are good to go. He just called me today saying he has the same issue. I...

cooki3mnster's build - The Black Pearl

Got the Spohn control arms installed this weekend! The full install only took 2ish hours. While it was all apart I also installed some new parking brake shoes as the old ones were seriously smoked. So Far I'm happy with the controls arms, Spohn calls for 75ft/lbs of torque for the intall but...

    Autoride delete with a lift.

Remove the PASS rear cover in the cargo area. You will see the Control module there mounted to the floor of the cab. There is a large ORANGE Wire that is the 12+ feed. Disconnect the battery and then snip the wire(I put some connectors on the ends of the wire to protect it for futrue use when I...

cooki3mnster's build - The Black Pearl

Scored a great Craigslist com up today. Spohn upper and lower Del-sphere control arms for $300! Had to drive a ways to pick them up but met a super cool GMT800 enthusiast. Going to order up the track bar soon and get the whole package installed.

Lets talk aftermarket alarms and bypass modules

I ended up ordering the Viper 5806V along with the Fortin Evo-All module as a bypass. I went with the Fortin module because it allows for control of defroster and heated seats when the cabin temp is under a certain temp. I still need to order up a tilt sensor, and shock sensor.

Lets talk aftermarket alarms and bypass modules

Right now I am looking at shock, tilt, and motion sensors. Along with a backup battery and a siren. Down the road I am planning on installing the Smart Start GPS module in it for extra piece of mind.

Lets talk aftermarket alarms and bypass modules

I'm looking in to installing a Viper 5806V in to the Black Pearl. There has been an increase in thefts around the neighborhood, plus remote start sounds awesome for cold mornings. I have been referencing this (https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?tid=133000) from the12volt.com It...

Had some window tint done yesterday, and gave it a bath today. Looks pretty good if I do say so myself. Did 20% on the front windows to match the privacy glass, and a 5% window stripe on the windshield.

This pic really shows the color. It’s definitely lighter but I kinda like it. The quality is really nice and for under $400 to get both sides I’m not mad at it.

cooki3mnster's build - The Black Pearl

Yeah, the swatch they sent me initially looked really close to the OEM color but the finished product was a little too light. That being said I'll probably end replacing the rest of the covers over the next year or so. I'm just happy to have non torn covers and new foam. It's so much more...

cooki3mnster's build - The Black Pearl

Update time! Finally got the seat covers from Lseat. The look great but the color is a little off compared to the old ones. The Lseat ones are lighter and more yellow than the OEM covers. That being said for $379 shipped for both front covers and all the bits I am thrilled. I also went ahead and...

[SOLVED] Weird HVAC issue after battery replacement

Well after some troubleshooting it turns out the drivers side actuator was the culprit. I decided to replace both the actuators and all is well. The whole process from start to finish took me about 2.5 hours including two trips to the parts store one for an actuator and a 5.5mm socket, and the...

    Steering Wheel Controls

By chance do you have an aftermarket stereo with the PAC interface? If so you can program it back to factory. It does seem weird that they would be different though. Link to cutsheet for interface just in case - https://catalog.pac-audio.com/index.php?controller=attachment&id_attachment=1388

[SOLVED] Weird HVAC issue after battery replacement

Awesome thanks for the offer. I'm going to try the above steps and report back. I have the next two weeks off so I have plenty of time take the dash apart and swap in some new actuators and clean everything up.
